Santa Cruz Spanish:
We offer personalized and professional Spanish language instruction in Santa Cruz County, Ca. We teach in a friendly environment, encouraging practice and understanding of the language and culture of Spanish speaking countries. Using visual aids, we make the class entertaining, dynamic, and interactive with lots of grammatical instruction so you can learn vocabulary without having to translate word by word. Most of the classes are about six weeks long; at the end of the class you will be able to speak en español. We have many years of teaching experience and have taught a wide range of students - from absolute beginner to highly advanced levels for children and adults.

Spanish for Adults
We teach conversational Spanish. Our method of teaching is a natural approach, the way children learn the language. From the moment instruction begins, you will learn the second language in the same way you learned your native language: through active participation, listening, understanding, speaking, reading and writing with an emphasis on developing conversational fluency.

You will acquire the proper grammatical skills through spontaneous and informal conversation, enabling you to communicate correctly and successfully. You will have plenty of opportunities to repeat the new words as often as needed, and to practice pronunciation. You will learn about different Latin-American countries, so you can understand and learn the culture better.

Basic - We offer basic level courses designed for people who either have no knowledge of the language, or who need a refresher of the basics of Spanish. All classes include information about Spanish speaking countries.

Intermediate - Practice and sharpen your Spanish conversation skills while you continue to improve your vocabulary, pronunciation grammar, verb usage, and comprehension skills. These are more elaborate class discussions of relevant, real life situations, vocabulary for traveling, current affairs, literature and articles related to different Latin American countries and Spain.

Advanced - This level is designed for people able to have a fluent conversation in Spanish, and ability to read texts in this language. Expand your vocabulary as you discuss contemporary issues related to the Spanish-speaking world and participate in lively discussions todo en español! Class content will be selected by class participants: we could start with current topics in the news, Spanish-speaking communities in the US and more. This course is ideal for those traveling to Latin American countries as well as those who wish to maintain their level of fluency. It includes reading exercises, literature, and lots of conversation.

Santa Cruz Spanish offers a fun and dynamic way to introduce and expose your child to the Spanish language and culture. We use a comprehensive instructional method for teaching Spanish and provide students context-rich and fun activities to hear and use Spanish language. The main focus is vocabulary and conversation. As students continue learning, they are getting ready for more formalized study of Spanish in school.

Students learn new vocabulary and learn to use the language instead of memorizing words. They engage in activities using a multisensory approach that makes learning fun. Children learn key phrases and how to ask and answer basic questions related to the unit they are learning. They are introduced to basic grammar in a simple and fun way; teachers may use science and art projects to teach students new vocabulary.

Instruction for children in K grade or younger teaches songs and learning vocabulary with pictures and age-appropriate games. Younger kids can also learn simple phrases from the "question/answer".
