Scotland’s highlands and islands, with their rugged coastlines, mountains, lochs and glens, are waiting to be explored. Scotland provides many opportunities for outdoor pursuits, from hill-walking and salmon fishing in the summer, to skiing and snowboarding in the winter.
Arriving in Scotland:
Edinburgh airport is conveniently located a short distance from the city centre. We are happy to provide an airport transfer service for students who would like to be met on arrival. There is also an excellent bus connection from the airport into the city centre, with a journey time of approximately 20 minutes.
Around Edinburgh:
When staying in Edinburgh, most students choose to travel around the city by bus, and the bus service in the city is one of the best in the United Kingdom, offering a frequent and far reaching service to all parts of the city. A “Ridacard” – or city bus pass – will allow you unlimited travel on all the city’s red buses. These passes are available only a five minute walk from the school and are used by the majority of students at the school.
Public transport in Edinburgh is comfortable, safe and easy to use. Drivers are helpful and friendly and the view from the top deck of the buses can be second to none!

• Established in 1978, St Brelade’s College in Jersey is an English language school that provides a wide range of year-round courses, including holiday, intensive or business courses, private lessons or residential programmes. • We offer separate courses for adults and young learners, and welcome individuals or groups.
• With a varying weekly activity programme, visiting places of interest, such as castles and conservation parks, arranging social evenings and activities such as water sports, we provide a holiday package that allows our students to practise their English, along with having a memorable stay.

Founded in 1995, ECS Scotland is a family run, British Council accredited English language training centre located in the heart of Edinburgh's New Town. Specialising in small group and 1-to-1 training to professional adults, ECS Scotland offers a variety of tailor made courses starting any Monday of the year.Combination Courses combine 15 hours of General English in a small group with a maximum of 5 students and 5, 10 or 15 hours of 1-to-1 tuition, focusing on your specific language needs. Medical, Legal, Financial, Tourism, Military, Business, email writing topics are covered. Please ask us for your specific topic area and we will create a course for you. Closed group courses are available on request.
