Hereford College of Arts:
Hereford College of Arts is a specialist college offering a range of courses in art, design and the performing arts - from entry level through to Foundation and Honours degrees. We are located in Hereford in Herefordshire in the West Midlands region of England, approximately 16 miles (26 km) east of the border with Wales, 24 miles (39 km) south-west of Worcester, and 23 miles (37 km) north-west of Gloucester. Our specialism gives a unique focus and quality to the life of the college – informal, fun, creative and unpredictable. “It’s not like university – it’s a real art college."

As a smaller college, Hereford College of Arts can offer individual, personal attention to each student – unlike most of the larger colleges and universities. Tutors are available for a chat any time, any day of the week. Each student has their own individual workspace (for studio based courses), and all course sizes are kept small, so you will quickly get to know everyone on your course and probably most other courses, as well as staff throughout the college.

We are one of the few remaining specialist art colleges in the country that gives you the chance to study a creative, practice based course in a very unique environment.

Student Experience:
Hereford College of Arts is one of the few remaining art colleges in the UK. Its small scale enables it to offer a more personal learning experience, where friendly tutors and staff get to know the students and smaller class sizes mean that students get lots of 'tutor time'. The college is split across different campuses in Hereford, with a shuttle bus to transport students between them. You can also walk between the three campuses and they are all close to the city centre.

Accommodation:
Our college offers a brokerage service to help students who are 18 years or over to find accommodation in Hereford and its surrounding area while they are studying. The contract students sign will be between the student and the landlord.

Hereford is a lively, compact city with lots to do. You can see live shows, music, comedians and more, and the city contains a great selection of pubs, clubs and places to eat. Hereford itself plays host to the Borderlines Film Festival and The Hereford Photography Festival every year. There are lots of music festivals and cultural events in the surrounding area too. Also, within easy reach by road or rail are some of UK’s major cities including Birmingham, Cardiff and London.

Hereford is an historic city set within beautiful rolling countryside. Herefordshire has a big selection of outdoor pursuit activities, so if you are into canoeing, mountain boarding, paintballing, rock climbing or most other adventurous activities, they can be found nearby. Herefordshire is right on the border with Wales too and there is fantastic scenery to be found in the Brecon Beacons National Park and beyond.
