Soccer Training Programs for Coaches & Referees in Singapore

English Soccer School Football Coaching Courses:
Based in Singapore, English Soccer School (ESS) offers professional football courses of an academic nature for soccer coaches and referees that are accredited by a UK educational government body. Qualifications can be obtained both online and with attendance in Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam Indonesia and Thailand. Courses are conducted by English FA Tutors and UK lecturers.

Academic Football Qualifications for Soccer Coaches / Referees:
- Euro-Asian Certificate of Football Coaching: Level 1
- Advanced Euro-Asian Certificate of Football Coaching : Level 2
- Level 2 Senior Coaching English FA Level 2 (in UK)
- Advanced Certificate (AC) in Football Training Methodology

Euro Asian Higher National Certificate (HNC) of Football Coaching: Level 1:
If you’re open to modern coaching methods, foreign coaching techniques and their application, then this course is for you. Since 2010, these courses have been delivered by English FA Chief Educator Keith Boanas.

This 18 hour course is designed to provide coaches with the foundation tools and material to deliver safe, engaging and functional soccer training sessions for youth players and novice players. The courses are conducted in English language.

Optional Internship:
Following the Level 1 course graduating coaches will be offered the opportunity for a practical and observational internship with the English Soccer School. This is a tangible opportunity to work closely with and to receive professional mentoring from certified Professional English FA & UEFA qualified coaches.

Course Content: choice of 2 days or over 5 days 
Induction and registration 4 hours to include theory modules on:

1.Roles and responsibilities of being a coach of young children.
2.Codes of Conduct
3.Warm Up
4.Information and basic equipment required to run a suitable session – Set Up & Outcome
5.Why do they play? How do they learn?
6.Signs and symptoms of over use injuries.
7.Benefits of mini soccer.
(This involves individual and group work in classroom)

Practical demonstration of various fun games and activity exercises suitable for children age 5 – 12, in total 6 games chosen from current formats and manuals in publication. In line with new ideas in UK best practices to show the game in its easiest format that would be acceptable to pass the award, but also how to build and progress the practice for the older players. 3 hour session incorporating 5 minute break

Practical demonstration of various fun games and activity exercises suitable for children age 5 – 12, in total suggest 6 games chosen from current formats and manuals in publication. In line with new ideas in UK best practice to show the game in its easiest format that would be acceptable to pass the award, but also how to build and progress the practice for the older players. 2 ½ hour session incorporating 5 minute break.

Practical demonstration of elementary goalkeeping exercises suitable for children age 5 – 12. ½ hour session

In pairs, or groups of three, plan prepare and deliver a practice session of 2 or 3 activities based on the games and exercises shown on day 2 and/or 3. Tutor will give written and verbal feedback on the session to provide action plan points for individual assessments. Candidates will each have an input into the practice session in preparation for their own practice. This will also encourage students to work as a team. Sessions will last approx 30 minutes. 4 hour session incorporating 5 minute break

Conclusion: Tutor assigns activities for Day 5 assessment.
Homework: Prepare for final individual assessment.

Individually assessed sessions 15 minutes in duration on theme assigned by the tutor. Coach’s to be independently assessed by another tutor. 4 hour session. Final debrief and results, feedback and action plan for future.

Advanced Euro Asian Certificate (AEAC) of Football Coaching: Level 2
Taught in English, this 18-hour course is designed to provide coaches with the foundation tools and material to deliver safe, engaging and functional soccer training sessions for novice players and youth players. Successful candidates will receive a recognised UK academic coaching qualification on par with the English FA level 2 certificate. Designed and delivered by an English FA Educator, this course can be run over 3 days or 5 days.

Optional Internship:
Following the Level 2 course graduating coaches will be offered the opportunity for a practical and observational internship with the English Soccer School. This is a tangible opportunity to work closely with and to receive mentoring from certified English FA , UEFA  and  AEAC qualified coaches.

Section 1 - Course Content:
Induction and registration 3 hours to include theory modules on:
- Philosophy of Football 
- Curriculum & Session Planning
- Football Administration 
- Managing Expectations
- Technical, Tactical & In-The-Game Coaching

Section 2:
Practical demonstration of various activities, exercises and small-sided games suitable for youth players of aspiring ability aged 8-16. Activities will be selected to complement the ESS curriculum.

Section 3:
Practical demonstration of various activities, exercises and small-sided games suitable for youth and senior players aged  10  – 21. Practical demonstration of how to incorporate the goalkeeper into outfield training. In line with new ideas in UK best practice to show the game in its easiest format that would be acceptable to pass the award, but also how to build and progress the practice for the older players.

Section 4:
In pairs, or groups of three, plan prepare and deliver a practice session of 2 or 3 activities based on the exercises shown in section 2 and/or 3. Sessions will last approx 30 minutes. Candidates will each have an input into the practice session in preparation for their own practice. This will also encourage students to work as a team. The tutor will give written and verbal feedback on the session to provide action plan points for individual assessments.

Criteria:
Criteria to successfully pass this award is 100% attendance, participation, working with others and completion of all relevant tasks. Plus 1 mock and 1 individual assessed session.
