Primary School (Infant and Junior) – Kindergarten 1 to Grade 5:
The curriculum is structured around the IB Primary Years Programme. This internationally-recognised framework is designed to enhance a child’s natural curiosity and sense of inquiry, and to foster independence and an enthusiasm for learning. Communication, thinking, research, social and self-management skills are developed in a progressive order, recognising children’s differing learning styles and the varied paces at which they learn.

Middle School – Grades 6 to 8:
As students progress to the Middle School they refine the core interdisciplinary skills initiated in the Primary School and have more subject specialist teachers guiding them in the fundamental subject-specific skills required for higher studies in related areas.

Students take a broad and balanced range of subjects; from physical, technical, creative, numerate and deductive, rational and experimental, to empathic and Photo of International School in Singapore evaluative. Although the curriculum breaks away from the IBO, the learner profile remains a focus for student development and curriculum structure.

Upper School – Grades 9 and 10:
In Grades 9 and 10 students study for seven or eight (I)GCSEs; while students joining the College in Grade 10 for the Foundation IB programme study 10 su Image of International School in Singapore bjects. Both programmes prepare students with subject-specific skills and knowledge as a foundation for the IB Diploma. Many students study Global Perspectives, the College’s IGCSE-recognised, interdisciplinary issues-based course to expose them to the skills of critical thinking, interpreting biases, communication and internationalism applicable in the IB Diploma.

Senior School – Grades 11 and 12:
Students prepare for an IB Diploma during the two year course. Schools and universities worldwide appreciate the academic breadth, rigour, and personal challenge of this internationally recognised pre-university qualification. The UWC movement was influential in the conception of the IB Diploma model and continues to be part of its development. A small number of students study for a reduced range of subject-specific IB certificates.

Breakthru Enrichment Station (BEST) is located in Setapak in the north-eastern part of Kuala Lumpur, and welcomes children who learn differently and those who encounter learning challenges. First group is mainly for children up to age 8 years who require foundational skills development to prepare them for learning or mainstream education, and the second group is for children who have started learning but struggle greatly, usually aged from 7 years and above.

We work in partnership with parents, family members, caregivers and teachers to promote play and the joy of learning.
