The American Academy of English is an English language school with 2 campus locations in the San Francisco Bay Area of California: Our main campus is centrally located on Golden Gate Avenue in San Francisco, and the other is based in Oakland, approximately 8 miles (13 km) east of San Francisco. We offer the latest in modern English language programs and facilities. Our graduating students successfully transfer to major universities and colleges throughout the United States. We have programs for all levels from beginning to advanced, as well as TOEFL preparation.

The Academy is located in San Francisco's Civic Center, a block away from City Hall, half a block from the Federal Building and minutes away from the San Francisco Public Library.

San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is approximately 20 minutes drive from the city centre.

San Francisco, one of the premier tourist destinations in the world, offers everything that any cosmopolitan center can offer. The best in restaurants from every nation, historic landmarks, outstanding universities, state parks, gorgeous beaches and redwood forests. With the Pacific Ocean to the west, the Bay to the east, and rolling hills throughout the city, San Francisco is world renowned for its breathtaking views. The climate remains relatively cool and comfortable with day temperatures between 55 and 60 degrees. Evenings cool off to between 45 and 50 degrees.

- Nearest Subway Station (BART):
If you take BART to San Francisco, get off at the Civic Center Station and walk north up Larkin two blocks, turn left one block, and then head north up Polk Street, past San Francisco City Hall until you reach Golden Gate Avenue. Turn left and walk half a block, the Academy is on your right.

- Nearest Train Station (Caltrain):
If you take the train up the Peninsula, get off at the San Francisco Depot (4th and King). From there you can take the 49 bus and get off Van Ness and Golden Gate, we are located half a block away at 530 Golden Gate Ave.

- Nearest Bus (SamTrans) / (Muni):
If you take SamTrans to San Francisco, get off on Mission and 7th. Walk down Market Street to Van Ness (From the bus stop to Van Ness is about 3 blocks.) Take Muni up Van Ness(North) to Golden Gate Avenue.
