Oficina de Portugues is a breath of fresh air to language schools. Located in Porto, on the Atlantic coast in northern Portugal, our courses perfectly match our student's needs! For those who come in vacation, Standard or Intensive Portuguese. A City Break for those who come with friends and family but only have time for a weekend (soon not only in Porto, but also in other locations of the country), or even Portuguese Part-Time for those who study or live in Porto. And for the ones who want a more personal experience there's always a Tailor Made Programme!

OficinadePortugues is a school dedicated to act as an interface between students and Portugal. Our goal is to take you on a journey through language, culture, histoty and literature. Along with our programs students can choose optional extra activities such as reading groups, writing workshops, questions class and conversations class once a week. Our outdoor visits will be held in Porto and throughout Northern Portugal.--

As soon as you get to Oficina, we’ll give you a Placement Test, both written and spoken, in order to select the right class for you. Your previous knowledge of Portuguese will always be considered despite the level test as will your personal preference.

If you want to try a higher level or a lower and then change, you’ll always be able to do that. In the end your speaking skills will naturally determine the right class and level for you. Our levels are based upon the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Host family:
This is probably the best way to complement your course. Our hostfamilies are carefully selected and live within a reasonable distance from OdP. Before arriving in Porto each student gets a detailed description of the host family. This includes location, interests, age, information about the house and fotos of the surroundings and the house.

Meals can be arranged, but are not included in the price of accommodation. However you can arrange your own meals at your host family's. You are free to use the kitchen and common parts of the house.
