Academy of International Ballet:
The Academy of International Ballet, located in the borough of Media in Delaware County PA, 12 miles west of Philadelphia, provides the finest ballet and dance training in the tri-state area. Classes are offered in Creative Movement, Pre-Ballet, Advanced and Intermediate Ballet, Character, Jazz, and Modern Dance. Classes are available to all age groups, from toddler to adults, and from beginner through to professional level.

Lower Division Ballet Classes:

- Creative Movement:  Ages 3-4
Explore all aspects of famous Classical Ballets and well loved stories through characters, storyline, costumes, music and mime. The stories come alive with student’s own natural curiosity, creativity and participation.

- Pre-Ballet:  Age 5
The art of Classical Ballet is introduced through a weekly theme based on one of the major classics. Fundamentals of classical technique are presented in a basic format that stresses fun, posture, body positions, and playground movements that become dance steps and the ability to focus in a group setting! Exploration of famous dancers, choreographers, costumes, composers and history all which help bring to life the art form as it developed through the ages and how it exists today.

- Ballet 1:  For all ages
Classical ballet terminology and basic exercises are introduced at the barre and in the center. Emphasis is on positioning of the feet and arms, carriage of the body and an introduction to basic stretching. It is a must for all beginners regardless of age. No ballet experience necessary.

Upper Division Ballet Classes: (For all ages)

- Ballet 2:
Students begin to develop a more extensive ballet vocabulary and combinations are introduced. The elements of classical technique, as well as balance, flexibility, strength, and turnout receive attention as the student advances.

- Ballet 3:
At this level technical strength, balance and flexibility continue to be emphasized. Students are also challenged with more complex movement patterns while still trying to master basic jumping, turning, and waltz steps. Basic pointe technique is emphasized in each class.

- Intermediate:
Pointe work moves to the center. Quick complex movement patterns and technical challenges are stressed. Artistry, strength, flexibility, and placement continue to develop. Students are allowed and encouraged to take unlimited classes.

- Advanced:
This level geared toward dancers wanting to pursue a professional career. Students are allowed and encouraged to take unlimited classes. All Advanced students are members of International Ballet Classique which provides them many opportunities to perform throughout the year.

- Open Class:

A ballet class for everyone - Intermediate, Advance and Professional Levels

- Company/Competition Rehearsal:

IBC and competition group rehearsals.

- Contemporary Choreography:
A class with contemporary choreography - By Artistic Director invitation.

- Home School Classes:

Ballet Classes for home school students. Sessions of 6-8 weeks.

Philadelphia Private Schools for Dyslexia Learning Disabilities and Language-Based Special Education: Located in Abington in Montgomery County, PA, Center School is a non-profit, co-educational independent day school for children ages six to fourteen who have experienced difficulties with reading and language development.
