Our Mission:
The Crenshaw School’s mission is to prepare each child for college and for life. Our core character values are honor, responsibility, and achievement, balanced by caring and respect for one’s self and for others. Crenshaw is committed to small classes and small overall size, which allow for discovery and development of each student’s unique talents and passions, while providing more opportunities for individual participation.

We believe an environment with a diversity of talents, abilities, cultures and backgrounds provides the richest and most fully rounded educational experience.

Our Philosophy:

The Crenshaw School’s philosophy expresses who we were founded to be, who we are, and who we strive to become. We celebrate as a positive good the fact that we have a student population of differing talents and abilities. Competition exists and is important at Crenshaw, as it is in college and life, but discovering the satisfaction that comes from becoming deeply and fully engaged and knowing that are spending life in a meaningful way is an important life skill, regardless of whether one “wins” or “loses.”

At Crenshaw, efforts are made to gauge the appropriate level of expectation from each student individually.

Education Programs:
 - Pre-Kindergarten program
- Elementary School program
- Junior School program
- Middle School program
- Senior School program
- Advanced Placement programs

- At Crenshaw, we place great importance on teaching mathematics, science, language arts, history, world languages, technology, and the fine arts.
- The curriculum is challenging, forward-thinking, innovative, and flexible, designed to help students from a range of backgrounds and with a range of talents and interests reach new levels of accomplishment.

Advantages of Being a Small School:

Image of Private K-12 School in the Orlando FL areaBecause we are small, student / faculty / parent partnerships come easier. Our famiy-centered environment develops academically, culturally, socially, and emotionally strong students. We have students that excel in championship teams, acclaimed fine arts programs and drama programs second to none. One-on-one education and shared classroom and extracurricular experiences are of equal importance here. Grade by grade, you will se how rewarding that is to your child.

To be at Crenshaw is to belong at Crenshaw. And, if we preserve this environment, our students will continue to appreciate and respect each other. While many students will become great leaders, scholars, athletes and artists, our goals is to develop world-class students who can recognize and celebrate the talents in each other. At The Crenshaw School we don’t set out to be the biggest, just the best.

Inspiring Faculty:

If you ask Crenshaw students what is the most important part of their school experience, they would answer: teachers and the support and encouragement they provide each and every day. The Crenshaw School has a low student teacher ratio, small classes, and the personal commitment of our faculty to teaching, advising, and mentoring students with their own commitment to life-long learning.

Parents As Our Partners:
Educating a child is a tremendous responsibility. Through the Crenshaw Guild, parents commit to a partnership to with the school to educate and support our students in the development of their minds, talents and character.

College Counselling:

Photos of The Crenshaw School, Orange CountyThe goal of college counseling at The Crenshaw School is to help students explore their strengths and talents in order to find a range of colleges and universities that will match their ambitions and goals. To that end, Crenshaw will provide the necessary tools to enable students to take the lead in their college search and to discover the college environment in which they can flourish personally and academically.

Student Activities:
Student life at Crenshaw is planned and spontaneous, formal and casual, quiet and raucous. Our programs in the academic and extra-curricular areas can foster virtuosity, but our size also affords the opportunity to work at something new. Though voluntary in membership and less formal in style, our student organizations often provide arenas for new ventures, new responsibilities and new experiences that can profoundly change how students see themselves, their world, and their place in it.

The following is a list of student organizations at the school. It is not complete, as there is always room for a new activity, and new organizations are always forming. Several of the following groups are less than two years old.

• Crenshaw Dance Stars
• Crenshaw Drama Club
• Student Government
• Yearbook
• Girl Scouts
