Classes are designed to fit your personal requirements and level. We teach all levels of English to business people, professionals, students, or anyone just needing to improve their skills.

About Gillian - Our Founder:

Photo of Online English ClassesGillian has a Master’s degree in Education, and a B.A. in International Relations. She is state certified to teach TESOL, both to young people and adults. She also has European diplomas in Linguistics and Methodology. In addition to her expertise in teaching English as a Second Language, Gillian also worked for many years as a writer, editor and researcher for a publishing company. She has had experience in the fields of business and finance. Finally, Gillian speaks both fluent French and Portuguese. She loves teaching English to language learners. As she says, “Teaching English to people from other countries and cultures has been a life-long, learning experience for me, as well as my students.”

How we teach:
Lessons are conducted between you (and possibly a group depending on your plan) and an EOC English professor using online videoconferencing. The videoconference is conducted using Skype, the free internet communication client. Most internet connections can reliably support audioconferencing over Skype. If you experience difficulty setting up and using a videoconference, we will simply stop broadcasting video and we will continue the lesson using audio only.

Our Teachers:
All EOC teachers are native English speakers, with either ESL certification, and/or a degree in the appropriate field. In addition, our teachers have much experience instructing students from other countries, and are sensitive to linguistic and cultural differences.
