Foothills Montessori School: Foothills Montessori School, located in the Green Valley area of Henderson, Nevada, is a private Montessori School offering Preschool through 8th grade programs. Foothills Montessori School was founded on four pillars: academic excellence, universal values, global understanding, and service. Beginning in 1999 with just eighteen students, we have blossomed into a tightly knit community of approximately 320 students and 43 faculty members.
Primary & Kindergarten: The primary program is for children ages 3-6 and includes kindergarten. Children still in preschool (3-4 year olds) are welcome to attend for either half of the day (morning or afternoon) or stay for the full day. Kindergarten age children remain the full day. In the morning, the kindergarten students benefit from the multi-age grouping while still doing work appropriate for them as individuals. In the afternoon, the kindergarten students attend their own class where they do journaling, have chapter books read to them, and explore culture and science in greater depth while continuing to work with the Montessori materials.
Elementary Program: The elementary program is typically divided into two age groupings: lower elementary (1st through 3rd grade) and upper elementary (4th and 5th grade). Each of our programs are based on the same essential principles, which are adapted to each age group in ways that are developmentally appropriate. Each principle is followed by a description of how it relates to the elementary level.
Middle School Program: Our middle school programs prepare children for the most challenging secondary curriculums available and offer many extra-curricular opportunities, while still offering a safe and empowering environment. Each of our programs are based on the same essential principles, which are adapted to each age group in ways that are developmentally appropriate. Each principle is followed by a description of how it relates to the middle school level.
Spanish Immersion: By learning Spanish in the classroom, students build a foundation for bilingualism and gain a knowledge and understanding of the Hispanic culture. Lina Streit is our Primary Spanish teacher. Maria Pate is our Lower Elementary, Upper Elementary, and Middle School Spanish teacher.
Summer Camp: Foothills Montessori School offers a full and engaging summer camp program to continue to educate our students and enrich their experience.
Other Programs: - Enrichment - Physical Education - Music - Spanish - Art - Performing Arts - Outdoor Classroom
