Cayman Music School, George Town:
Cayman Music School (CMS) is located in George Town on Grand Cayman, the largest of the three islands that make up the Cayman Islands in the western Caribbean Sea. We offer music lessons to adults and children of all ages and levels. Students can study a range of instruments including piano, violin, guitar, drums and many others as well as singing lessons and music theory. In addition, we prepare students for the internationally recognized music examinations of London Trinity College and ASRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music).
CMS provides a wide range of music programs for children and adults of all levels:

Preparatory Course (Ages 4-5):
Weekly group lessons designed to develop basic music skills. The curriculum provides students with a fundamental background of rhythm, pitch, tempo, dynamics, notation. The program is comprised of a variety of activities including musical games, singing, playing keyboard and other musical instruments, computer basics in music.
Computer Music:
This course is designed to introduce students to computer-based composition, notation, recording, editing. The program is devoted to learning the basics of leading music software, including Sibelius, Finale. Beginners are offered the opportunity to practice music listening, aural skills on the computer, be engaged in creative music making using kids music programs.
Music Theory:
The course of music theory aims to develop strong analytical skills and build professional music vocabulary. Students who have consistent theory instruction understand and interpret music more easily and accurately. The study of music theory is an important part of a complete musical education. On the theory lessons students learn about essential rudiments and elements of music: rhythm and notation, intervals and chords, form, melody harmonization and compositional technique.
Music Appreciation:
Music Appreciation course refers to exploring the periods of musical history, understanding the context in which composers made their masterpieces. Students will learn about various styles, genres, and forms, listen and analyze music of famous composers, recognize and identify examples of music literature from all major stylistic periods.
Ear Training and Solfege:
Ear Training is a vital component of the training of musicians at all levels. It develops listening skills and helps to play and write music "by ear". On the lessons students learn to recognize harmonic, melodic and rhythmic structures. The various activities include dictations and aural tests which aid the students in perfecting pitch and rhythm skills. Solfege - sight-singing program based on Do-Re-Mi as well as traditional (ABC) notation.
Ensemble:
Ensemble course provides additional opportunities for musical development and musicianship skills. Ensembles are organized into instrumental/vocal groups according to students' academic level, age and suitability of the pieces.
Piano students are involved in piano duets, piano accompanying, or kids band (keyboard). Guitar and vocal ensembles include two (duet), three (trio), four(quartet) or more musicians. Guitarists, singers, keyboard players, along with drum players, may perform as a band (pop, rock, etc.).
