Turning Winds Academic Institute:
Turning Winds Academic Institute (TWAI) is an industry-leading therapeutic private boarding school for troubled boys and girls (ages 13-18). We provide a comprehensive teen help program for parents of troubled teens, who need the support of professional educators and therapists to turn the lives of their youth around.

Located in Troy, Lincoln County, 76 miles northwest of Kalispell in northwestern Montana, Turning Winds Academic Institute provides a structured environment as a good alternative to a boot camp or military school.

Although we are not a summer camp, we understand the power of the outdoors and spend a good amount of time in the outdoors with those who attend our program. We provide an exceptional serene, safe and healing environment on a 150 acre campus.

Location and Facilities:

TWAI is one of the most successful therapeutic boarding schools in our industry. We provide successful healing for all teens.

While at TWAI, your son or daughter will go through three program phases; the orientation, transition, and aftercare phase.

Through our outdoor recreation program our students experience the therapeutic effect of the great outdoors. TWAI utilizes the outdoors to combine adventure therapy, experiential education and psycho-educational therapy. 

When we are not on our baseball diamond, soccer field, Frisbee golf course, or our mountain bikes, you might find us on the ski mountain, out on the lake, or backpacking in the backcountry.
