Mandarin Chinese Classes in Manhattan, NYC

Byron Wu's Chinese Studio:
Since 1999, Byron Wu's Chinese Studio has provided Mandarin Chinese language classes in New York City. The studio is centrally located in Manhattan, just five minutes' walk from Union Square and 14th Street – Union Square Subway Station (Shared by the IRT Lexington Avenue Line, the BMT Broadway Line, and the BMT Canarsie Line). The Mandarin Chinese lessons offered will give you the training you need to communicate with skill and confidence.

Mandarin Chinese Language Programs:
Students start building essential skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing from the very first lesson. Each of these skills reinforces the others. Classes for beginner students combine instruction in grammar and usage with a lot of oral practice. For intermediate and advanced learners, we work with each student to design a program of study, including texts and other materials, to suit their own interests and abilities. At all levels, authentic materials are used to increase students' exposure to the language as it is spoken and used in everyday situations.

Mandarin Chinese language lessons for individuals / groups for all levels from beginners to advanced:

One-to-One Private Mandarin Chinese Language Lessons:
- Lessons typically last one hour or 90 minutes.
- Instruction is tailored to your interests and experience.

Small Group Mandarin Chinese Language Lessons:
- 2 - 5 students per class.
- Classes are usually 90 minutes in length.
- You can start a private class with one or more friends, or I will try to match you with other students of a similar level.

Corporate / Business Mandarin Chinese Language Instruction:
- Courses are geared to the specific requirements of your profession. Options include Chinese for business, travel, in-depth cultural understanding and more.

Mandarin Chinese Specific Topics (For all levels):
- These are tailored to the needs and requirements of students. 
- Fundamentals of Chinese reading, writing, speaking and listening comprehension are covered.
- Coaching in standard Mandarin pronunciation and diction.
- Practical communication skills.
- In-depth study of Chinese literature and culture.

Lesson Scheduling:
- Lessons can be held at my apartment (5 minutes from Union Square).
- Lessons can also be arranged at your home or office.
- Lessons can be scheduled on any day of the week, including weekends.
