Law Summer School in Europe

European Public Law Organization (EPLO):
Established in 2007 in Athens, Greece, The European Public Law Organization (EPLO) is an international organization that is dedicated to the creation and dissemination of knowledge in the area of public law. The EPLO provides summer programs in both Greece and the UK for undergraduate and postgraduate students interested in the field of public law.

Established for the purpose of creation and dissemination of knowledge in the area of public law, The European Public Law Organization (EPLO) was created as an international organization with headquarters in Athens, Greece in 2007. Since then, it has carried out extensive research activities, undertaken consulting activities, has organized and executed training programs, participated in international bodies and institutions of similar character and scope of activities.

EPLO Members:
13 States, the Council of Europe, the European Commission, 3 public authorities (Ministry of Justice, Transparency & Human Rights of Greece, Ministry of Administrative Reform and e-Governance of Greece, Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina) and 64 Universities and institutions comprise the EPLO Board of Directors.

The EPLO signatory powers recognized the importance of public law and the need to further promote its scientific, research, educational, training, institution building and other dimensions for a better generation of lawyers and democratic institutions worldwide, and the promotion of European values through public law throughout the world.

The Academy of European Public Law offers an annual summer program. Founded in 1995, the Academy has been the oldest and most esteemed educational establishment of the EPLO, and the most representative of its mandate. This summer, you will have the opportunity to engage with world class academics for a series of lectures and seminars at Sounion Bay, Athens & Spetses Island, Greece.

The Global Law & Governance Summer School is a research-led summer program held each year in July by the Global Network of Greek Lawyers abroad. This summer, it will take place in Sounion Bay, Athens.

In addition to the summer programs in Greece, the EPLO offers occasionally  a Cambridge Summer Campus in Wolfson College in the UK. This program is conducted by an International faculty on a contemporary topic in the areas of Global law and Governance.

The EPLO has premises in the area of Legraina in Sounion, Greece. The premises are situated on the bay of Cape Sounion, one of the most reputed provinces of Greece, overlooking the AegeanSea. Standing on a plot of 32,500 square meters, the premises were designed with the aim of offering a working environment that promotes study and research activities, as well as an environmentally conscious and healthy lifestyle among the EPLO employees and its visitors.

The facilities include a large-scale conference hall with a capacity of 500 people and a simultaneous interpretation system of four languages, four seminar rooms with a capacity of 70 people each, accommodation facilities including a guesthouse of eleven double rooms and twosuites, an open-air theatre, a basketball court, a tennis court, a volleyball court, as well as an extensive garden.

In addition, the facilities include the European Public Law Library with over 33.000 volumes on public law, and the related field of international, comparative and EU law, as well as Human Rights.
