Based in Florence, in the Tuscany region of Italy, Accademia del Giglio is a private school that teaches the Italian language and Italian cultural courses. Our programmes are specifically aimed at helping international students to gain proficiency in the Italian language, understand the many aspects of Italian culture and acquire artistic skills. The school places considerable emphasis on the quality of its teaching. All our teachers have a degree from an approved Italian university, are native Italian speakers who can also speak English and / or French, and have at least 4 years’ teaching experience.

About Accademia del Giglio:

Our classes are very small, with a maximum of 6-7 people, and are held in a peaceful area (with no traffic noise) from the city centre. We feel that small class sizes are essential to facilitate the learning process and ensure that focus is placed on the learning requirements of the individual student, and on helping him / her to overcome any difficulties in a friendly environment, whilst the range of courses on offer allows the student to adapt the programme to their individual needs.

At Accademia del Giglio, every effort is made to satisfy the student's needs and provide enjoyable lessons in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

Italian Language Courses:

Our Italian Language courses take place all year round, from Monday to Friday, usually from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (20 hours a week) or from 9 am to 11 pm (10 hours per week). Students take a placement test in order to be placed at an appropriate level.

There are seven levels: beginner, elementary, pre intermediate, intermediate, upper intermediate, advanced, proficiency, according to the European Language Portfolio. Our courses for non-beginners normally start every Monday.
