LiloVeve Jewelry School is an acclaimed Jewelry Studio and Gallery located in the heart of Brooklyn, New York City. We offer a wide range of fun and informative classes designed to encourage and cultivate appreciation of handmade work. The LiloVeve Gallery features our collections of hand crafted Wedding and Engagament Bands, and offers custom design and gemstone consultation. Gallery openings include curated shows of jewelry art along with paint, photography, and mixed media artists explore our various shared sources of inspiration.

6-week Gold Alloying Course:
Starting with 24 Karat pure gold, we custom alloy in the studio to create rich colors of 22 karat, 18 or even 14 karat gold.

Choose from deep rich yellow to pale light green gold, orangey-red to a delicate rose. We then learn to work with the properties of the individual alloys, how to mill the ingot into wire and sheet, and how to form a bezel for a gemstone setting.

We also learn how to recycle the gold material, how to fuse high karat gold, to raise or lower the karat, and how to transform old gold jewelry into stunning new designs.

We create a beautiful and unique piece of jewelry, combining traditional gold smithing techniques with contemporary design sensibilities.

This course has two instructors: Katrina LaPenne, Caroline Glemann.

- Katrina has a BFA form the Rhode Island School of Design, with a focus on Metal Arts / Jewelry Design. Her knowledge includes a specialty in high karat, custom alloyed classical jewelry designs that showcase traditional goldsmithing techniques. Her personal work is inspired primarily from natural forms and their interaction with the body.

- Caroline is a self-taught artisan with years of experience designing in the jewelry industry. Caroline is especially known for her engagement and wedding band collections, and for one-of-a kind commissioned works.

She directs the entire jewelry creation cycle for the client from sourcing a gemstone to handcrafting a unique and beautiful ring to commemorate this special lifetime occasion. Caroline is the founder and artistic director of the LILOVEVE Jewelry School and Gallery, located in Brooklyn NY.
