BWS Germanlingua in Berlin is committed to offering quality German language courses to foreigners in a pleasant environment that respects the values of each participant, with the aim of strengthening communication between different linguistic communities in the world. We do not only focus on teaching the German language, but also the German culture and costumes. We started teaching German as a foreign language in 1984. Thanks to our highly qualified teachers, the welcoming atmosphere and modern teaching facilities, we have earned a very good international reputation. In our classrooms, international students from all over the world meet to learn German.
German Language Courses (For all levels):
We offer a wide range of German language courses for all levels from beginner to advanced:
- Standard German language course (20 lessons per week)
- Intensive German language course (25 lessons per week)
- Mini group German language course (20 lessons, 5 partcipants max.)
- Combined German language course (Standard course + 5 or 10 individual lessons)
- Individual, one-on-one German language tuition
- Evening German language course
Standard German Course:
20 lessons per week
Monday to Friday, 9:30AM - 1:00PM (or 2:30PM - 6:00PM in high season)
The Standard Course offers speaking, listening, reading and writing skills in small groups of maximum 10 participants (12 in high season)
Intensive German Course:
25 lessons per week
Monday to Friday, 9:30AM - 2:00PM (or 1:15PM - 6:00PM in high season)
In the Intensive Course, you will also develop the skills provided by our Standard Course with an additional special focus on communication. Maximum 10 participants (12 in high season)
Mini Group Course:
20 lessons per week, max 5 participants
Monday to Friday, 9:30AM - 1:00PM
This course has been especially developed to meet the requirements of those people who prefer to study in a very small group on a very intensive basis. In this course you will have the guarantee that there will be not more than 5 people in your group.
Important notice: This mini group course is available only from September until June (not in July and August).
Combined German Course:
Standard course + 5 or 10 one-to-one lessons
You will take part in the Standard Course and additionally receive one-to-one private lessons where you will practice your German intensively and where you and your teacher can focus on your specific individual requirements.
Individual One-On-One German Language Tuition:
Individual lessons are the most intensive form of language learning and ensure the greatest possible success. The lessons are tailored to suit the needs of anyone requiring spezialized vocabulary for professional purposes, a particularly high standard of language training or for those wishing to make maximum progress in minimum time.

Our school is located in the center of Mannheim, near all the important shops, public authorities and institutions. Students do a written assessment test and are interviewed to determine their exact level. Our courses involve a communicative approach, developing oral and written communication skills. We offer German language courses to adults and juniors (13 - 16 years) including intensive German, summer German courses and preparation courses for recognized examinations. After completing an eight weeks German course with dialoge, we offer all students with good German skills (level B1) the opportunity to complete an internship in a company in Lindau.
