Situated in St. Germain en Laye, in the western suburbs of Paris, the American Section provides an American educational and cultural experience of exceptional quality within the Lycée International de St. Germain-en-Laye, a French public school comprised of thirteen international sections, including German, Spanish, Dutch, Swedish, Japanese, Russian and Italian. National French Curriculum with native-level American component:
The American Section provides a comprehensive international education within the context of the Lycée International, which is recognized as one of France's top public schools. Students experience a unique hybrid of American and French curricPhoto of International American School in Paris, Franceula with particularly strong emphasis on language, math, and science. They also maintain strong links with their American culture while developing a consciousness as global citizens.American Section students get the full benefit of an excellent French public school education. In addition they spend 6-8 hours a week receiving US grade-equivalent instruction.

- US Curriculum: Using American textbooks and teaching methods, American or Canadian teachers work closely with all American Section students and support them in their extracurricular as well as academic endeavors. Language and literature, history and social sciences are adapted to requirements of the American educational system and taught in English.

The American Section of the Lycée International uses standardized testing to measure achievements relative to schools in the US and students typically reintegrate at their appropriate grade level.

- French Curriculum: The Lycée International is consistently rated one of France's top schools with a success rate of 99-100% in the French Baccalaureate. Facilitating integration:


- Français Special: Not surprisingly, many American Section students arrive with little working knowledge of French. While these students pursue the normal American Section curriculum, the Français Spécial (FS) program gives them extra support in their first year by placing them with French curriculum teachers experienced in accommodating their particular linguistic needs. Thereafter, FS students attend normal French curriculum classes with the option to continue with French language tutoring as needed.

- Marinstream and Language Plus:
Many American Section students benefit froPhotos of American Section Lycee International, Parism special attention to strengthening their English skills. These students are placed in the Language Plus class, availbale most years from 1st through 7th grade. Students in these classes share the same curriculum as their mainstream counterparts with special emphasis on mastery of oral and written English language skills.

Senior Year: Qualifying exams:
Baccalaureate: American Section students take the French Baccalaureate with the International Option (OIB). The Baccalaureate is sufficiently rigorous that most students who obtain a passing grade are given Advanced Placement credits by US colleges and universities.Other exams: PSATs, SATs as well as the Advanced Placement language and literature exams are taken in the sophomore, junior and senior years.

Open Doors, Paris
Courses / Programs
Open Doors provides English literacy classes for English-speaking children. We are based in the western suburbs of Paris and have been operating since 1985. Our classes are compatible with the French school timetable and all our pupils attend French school. Over 80 children, aged 4-11 years old, are currently enrolled. We limit the teacher/pupil ratio to 1 to 10.

We employ only qualified primary school teachers who are native English speakers. They have wide experience of both an Anglophone education system and bilingual children. All nationalities are welcome but good spoken English is required. Open Doors is a non-profit making association run by parents. Fees are kept to a minimum. There are both nursery classes and primary school classes.
Nursery Program; Primary School Program. Language of Instruction is English. Nursery Classes (Tuition starts at 4 years old. French school is not compulsory until 6 years old) and Primary School Classes ( From nursery classes, children progress into Class 1 and can stay with us throughout primary school.
Notre Dame International High School, Paris

• Situated in Verneuil sur Seine, only 30 minutes north-west of Paris by train, Notre Dame International High School (NDIHS) provides bilingual, college preparatory education to students from around the world.

• Part of the Nacel International School System (NISS), we offer an American-styled high school curriculum taught in English to students in Grades 9-12, which leads to an American high school diploma.

• Students also benefit from an extensive French language and culture program. We provide 5 and 7 day boarding facilities as well as French homestays for further French cultural immersion.

United Nations Nursery School located on Rue Pierre Guérin at Paris’s 16th arrondissement, the largest administrative district of Paris, on the west side of Paris, is a private, international, multicultural school welcoming children between 2 and 1/2 and 6 years of age. The active teaching environment is led by an experienced team of bilingual English / French teachers. English classes are held at all levels. The school’s garden setting, low teacher-pupil ratio, multicultural make-up and lively social life set it apart from other pre-schools.

Our school was founded in 1951 by a group of parents of different nationalities who were working for UNESCO. The school is a place where the children come into contact with a variety of different cultures which widens their experience and broadens their outlook. They come to understand and then to respect other cultures and all that these entail.

The staff are all qualified teachers and they too are of various nationalities. In a warm and friendly but not permissive atmosphere, each child can learn at his or her own pace, acquiring knowledge and understanding which will allow him to approach abstract thinking.

EPIM, International Private Schools of Marseille and the Mediterranean consists of two international bilingual (French / English) kindergarten and elementary schools in Provence, Southern France.
