Speakeasy School of English is a small friendly English language school situated in Chiswick, a leafy fashionable part of West London close to the centre. Our English courses use the Callan Method. The timetable is arranged to allow choice and flexibility. Students can choose to study for two or three hours a day, and between two and five times per week. Each study hour is 50 minutes long, followed by a 10-minute break.

We provide an accommodation service for our students and we also help with problems that arise during a student's stay in London, and can advise on visa and immigration matters. We arrange a variety of social, cultural and sporting entertainments to complement your course of studies.

Courses:

Our English courses use the Callan Method. This means our students learn the language by talking, not just by listening. The key benefit of this method is that it is fast. Courses are available at all levels, from beginner to advanced. We offer free trial classes so you can experience how effective our courses are.

Location:

The school is located on Chiswick High Road, less than 2 minutes walk from Stamford Brook Underground Station in West London. The main road is also accessible by buses running from Hammersmith, Fulham, Shepherds Bush, Ealing, Twickenham and Richmond.
It is about six miles west of Hyde Park Corner in Central London. The journey takes about 15 minutes by underground train. Local attractions include Chiswick House (see box to the right), and the home of the 18th century artist William Hogarth. Above all a very pleasant riverside walk that runs along the Thames (pictured above), with a selection of historic waterside pubs which are especially popular in the summer months.

We provide an accommodation service for our students. You can choose to live with an English family, in a hostel, or in a hotel. We are happy to recommend the type of accommodation that meets your needs and budget and make all reservations as required.
