Blessed Sacrament Catholic School:
Blessed Sacrament Catholic School, located in the heart of Park Hill, Denver, Colorado, is an accredited, co-educational, Catholic school offering Early Childhood through 8th Grade programs. Blessed Sacrament proudly offers distinct, rigorous, and developmentally appropriate programs that are attuned to the various needs of each age group. We believe that such a wide-ranging academic and social environment provides definite advantages to students at all grade levels.
Programs for Early Childhood through 8th Grade:
Early Childhood Education (PS2-PK4):
Blessed Sacrament Catholic School's Preschool and PreKindergarten programs encourage children to become engaged and interested students. All programs include age-appropriate development in Literacy, Math, Science, Religion, and fine & gross motor skills.
Preschool specials include Spanish, Art, Music, Library, and Physical Education. Blessed Sacrament Catholic School participates in the Denver Preschool Program, with tuition reimbursement eligibility for all PreKindergarten families.
Elementary School (K-5):
Children continue with the Open Court reading program from kindergarten through grade five. This program emphasizes all areas of language arts and reading in order to bring the child to the level of an independent reader: decoding through phonics and phonemic awareness; comprehension; spelling; grammar and writing.
In addition to our core subject areas, which includes instruction in religion, children in grades kindergarten through grade five are also instructed in Spanish, music, computer technology, physical education, and art.
Middle School (6-8):
Our middle school program continues with the core academics of the elementary grades and provides more emphasis on science, mathematics, algebra, social studies, and literature. The curriculum is enhanced and broadened by extra curricular activities as well as classroom projects and specials classes. Drama and speech classes are a regular part of the middle school curriculum.
The students have adapted, written, and performed Shakespearean, Greek and other classic stories and plays. Sixth through eighth grade students participate in Archdiocesan speech competitions, spelling bee competition, and the Cultural Arts Fair. The annual Christmas program is a spectacular, school-wide holiday presentation.
