Based in Bethesda, in southern Montgomery County MD, ISL International School of Languages is a language school that prides itself on providing excellent French programs for adults of all ages from beginner to advanced levels. People from all over Maryland, Virginia, and the Washington DC Metropolitan area enjoy and embrace their chosen language in groups or as private lessons. We provide general and intensive French classes, group lessons, individual tutoring, and more. We also offer tutoring in Spanish and English, with Mandarin Chinese and Italian programs available in 2014.

This unique program is designed for those who want to learn using practical, real life, day to day situations and scenarios. The class is set up and led by our instructors to encourage participation and involvement from everyone. Apart from having lots of fun and meeting other great people, you will remember what you learn.
Our classes are small, between 2 and 8 students, which gives us the opportunity to work in a more personable way with each student in class to make sure everybody is making progress and have a consistency on their knowledge of the foreign language.
Our classes meet once a week for 1.5 hours or 2 hours. Sessions are ongoing and students may join at anytime as long as their proficiency level meets the level of the class.
One-on-One French Lessons
Your own personal French language instructor! Choose to have one of our qualified instructors come right to your home or enjoy the comfort and convenience of our downtown Bethesda location. Your one-on-one sessions may serve as customized tutoring sessions, conversation practice, test preperation, or even to help you prepare for a trip abroad.
Private Group Classes:
Gather your group of collegues, friends, or family members, and get ready to have a gret time learning French together! Your classes may take place at our convenient downtown Bethesda location, or at your home or office.
Customized courses may be created to meet the specific demands of the group, or you may choose to follow one of our popular beginner, intermediate, or advanced curricula. It's up to the group.
Class Levels and Assessment:
The International School of Languages is proud to structure its courses into 6 different levels which follow the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), a framework devised by the Council of Europe to reflect linguistic standards for learning all European languages.
