CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) Program:
Duration: 6 weeks, 80 clock hours

This course trains the student to assist the nurse in medical procedures in a hospital or nursing home setting.

To successfully complete this training, the student must complete the course with GPA of 2.0 and complete forty-five (40) clock hours of theory and (40) clock hours of practical in satisfactory progress.

Entry Requirements:
In order to enroll in this program, a prospective student must have completed or be enrolled in a medical assistant or medical related program or possess satisfactory related work experience with positive job references. Students must also satisfactorily complete a state criminal background check and a drug screen.

Advanced Medical Assistant Program:
Duration: 71.5 academic credit hours (includes externship)

This curriculum trains the student to assist the physician in medical procedures in the physician's office, to maintain medical records, and to perform clerical duties. Graduates from this program possess vital skills in these key employable areas:

- Mental Health Technician
- Phlebotomy
- EKG
- Pharmacology
- Medical Billing & Coding
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Entry Requirements:
In order to enroll in this program, a prospective student must possess a high school diploma or equivalent certification, or have passed the Ability-to-Benefit (ATB) entrance exam and enrolled into a title IV eligible institution prior to July 1, 2012.

Brightside Institute - Nursing Assistant Program

Located in Plano, TX, less than 20 miles north of Dallas, Brightside Institute offers a professional Nursing Assistant program designed to prepare students to work in care facilities. Classes are scheduled during morning, evening, and weekend hours to accommodate every student's needs. Accelerated CNA classes are also available for those who wish to complete their program of study in a shorter period.
