English Language Programs:
When you enter LASC's ESL programs, you will be first assessed to determine your current language level. You will then be placed into the appropriate program for you. LASC's ESL programs prepare students from beginning to advanced levels to communicate effectively in academic, business, and social settings.

Each program is comprised of three different modules:,

1) Conversation where you will practice your listening and speaking skills
2) Grammar where you will cultivate your writing and reading skills
3) An optional elective course where you can concentrate on a specific aspect of the English language.

Elective course offerings change each quarter so please check with the admissions office for the most current information - Business English, Screen English, Pronunciation, TSE, Essay Writing, Citizenship, American Slang.

- Private English lessons: Students who seek to improve or excel in a specific skill such as speaking, reading or writing, may choose to study one on one with an instructor. Furthermore, private lessons can greatly compliment the curriculum of our morning and evening classes as well.

- TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language)
Our TOEFL Preparation course provides intensive practice in preparation for the Writing, Listening, Reading and Grammar portions of the TOEFL exam. Weekly practice exams help you to improve and achieve the scores you desire.
