Dance Classes for Kids & Teens:
These 45 / 50 / 55 minute classes help your child develop their creative abilities in movement. We believe in providing a nurturing non-competitive environment while offering instruction in the various forms of dance without sacrificing the joy of dance or the fun of being a child. We use 100's of different props and music from every corner of the world to inspire our dancers.

- Tots & Tutus (18 months - 2.5 years)
:
This toddler dance class is full of stimulation in sight, touch and sound. Your child will begin to learn terminology and basic dance movements all the while using puppets, musical instruments, props, bubbles, body movement and gross motor skill development games. This class is a wildly interactive introduction to dance for your little one! We keep pace with your child's sense of play as well as their desire to learn. This class is used as a base for our ballet / tap classes.

- Ballet / Tap (2's or 3 & 4 years):
At this age, dance should be about learning to nurture creativity in movement. Developing coordination and promoting self-esteem, combined with learning basic positions and terminology, are the building blocks of our wildly creative dance curriculum. Through strong dancing, weekly themes, and the use of hundreds of props and costumes Creation Station Ballet / Tap Classes become a magical dance experience for every child.

- Ballet / Tap (5 years +)

Once a child has reached this age, we will begin to incorporate more elements of traditional ballet technique. Developing strength, balance, coordination and flexibility, your child will start to learn proper body alignment, as well as barre, and center floor exercises. Our classes will challenge the students both mentally and physically, yet still keep that sense of creativity. At this stage, your child will be asked to wear appropriate ballet attire including hair tied away from their face. This creates an environment free from distractions and enables the students to feel like true dancers.

- Princess Series (3 & 4 years or 5-7 years):
Come stretch your imagination, as well as your toes, in the storybook dance class based on dances from your favorite fairy tales and ballet stories! Each ten week session features 2 stories that will teach your child how to "tell a story with their body".

Each session will focus on a different fairy tale that has been turned into a ballet...as well as some that are just children's classics. We will feature Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Giselle, and many more. Your child will explore elements of creative movement, ballet, tap, and jazz, in this delightful trip to enchanted kingdoms.

- Pip Hop (4 & 5 years):
Has your pip squeak wanted to "dance like the big kids"? Well now is their chance... Pip Hop is Hip Hop for the younger set. Our Pip Hop class is full of rhythm, body awareness, simple choreography and high energy craziness all set to cool funky music! If you have a pip-squeak that can't stop moving bring them to this simplified hip hop class to get their groove on.

- Hip Hop (5-7 years, 9-12 years & 13-16 years):
Hip Hop is an explosive, funky dance style that combines memory, coordination, rhythm games, and loads of energetic FUN. Come learn the latest dance moves from all of your favorite video stars!! By combining fast paced rhythms and movement exercises, your child will get an AWESOME workout without realizing they are breaking a sweat. We will choreograph routines and learn the fundamentals of this funky dance style without sacrificing the joy of dance or the thrill of being a "hip" kid.

- Jazz / Lyrical / Contemporary (6 years +):
Our classes are a combination of ballet, jazz, and modern dance in which the student's primary objective is to tell a story or convey emotions with their body. These classes begin with an alternating barre/center warm-up and are followed by technique/turns/jumps, across the floor, Floor work, and choreography. Children will start to learn how to "story dance" in this wonderfully creative movement class.

- Musical Theatre (5-8 year olds & 9 years +)
If your child needs to sing as well as dance, then this class is playing their song! Children will explore the music and movements of some of Broadway's greatest hits! Your child will learn to vocalize properly, convey emotions through song, dance to show a storyline, memorize scenes, play theater games and help to choreograph. This class is performance based and each term will culminate in some show stopping numbers. Let's teach them that there is something else out there besides Disney!

- CSA (Creation Station Academy)
Creation Station Academy is for the dancer who wants a more formal training situation, but doesn't feel the need to be placed in a competitive atmosphere. All of the CSA classes are structured and fairly rigorous for the child wanting to bring their dancing to the next level. (2 classes per week are required).

- Ballet (7 years +)
These ballet classes begin with training at the barre to practice proper body placement, warm and strengthen muscles, and build technique that is brought to the center. In the center, dancers work on adagio (slow, controlled movements that combine strength and flexibility), petit allegro (small, quick jumps that build speed and ease of motion), allegro (more dramatic movements that are a natural extension of petit allegro), and grand allegro (large, spectacular steps that us a combination of skills learned throughout class).

- Pointe (11 years +):
Pointe dancer must have studied dance for a minimum of four years and study ballet at least twice each week. Dancers will not be permitted to begin Pointe until age 11. When the teacher feels a student is ready to train for Pointe work, she will be asked to study ballet in demi Pointe for a minimum of six months. When the teacher sees the required strength of the foot, the student will be instructed in where to obtain a proper Pointe fitting. In order to remain in Pointe, the student must maintain good attendance due to the rigors of the discipline.
