Montessori Learning Center - Ventura's instructional program is based on a scientific method of teaching developed by the well-known educator, Dr. Maria Montessori. She became interested in education as a physician while treating children, and began her work in San Lorenzo, Italy. Her observations and research lead her to discover that children have much potential in learning new concepts, especially at an early age. She also found that early education is the best preparation for a child's life. The classes consist of children ranging from two and a half to six years of age. The school faculty is made up of a director and assistant teachers.

Teacher:
The Montessori teacher observes each child in order to determine his or her needs. The teacher then works with each child, introduces especially designed and graded educational materials, serves as a role model, and provides guidance where needed. The teacher's indirect method of teaching constantly guides the child in gaining knowledge.

Environment:
Our enriched environment is filled with academic and artistic fields. This environment helps to develop children’s ability to adjust to traditional schools. To obtain maximum benefit from the Montessori Educational Method, it is recommended that the child follow at least a three-year program beginning as early as 2 ½ years and remaining through age five or six.

Small Fry Dance Club offers a preschool dance program in Foster City in San Mateo County, CA. Our dance program is designed to give young students a survey style class that covers basics in tap, ballet, jazz, creative movement, and yoga. Our goal is to help each student find a place for dance in their life. No matter what the degree of each child's dance goals, discovering movement should be nothing but empowering. Through dance, Small Fry teaches children to be creative, physically fit, flexible, confident, and artistic.

Small Fry Dance Club was founded by Jana Chapeton in early 2007. We have had 1,000 plus students come through the program at over 20 different schools. We have also been nominated as "Best Dance School" by Best of The Bay TV (2009).

All of our teachers have extensive education and experience teaching dance, performance, and motor skills to preschool and school age students. Twice a year, Small Fry dancers have the chance to participate in our company performances. Our shows are a great chance for the dancers to gain experience performing, while sharing their progress in weekly dance class with friends and family.
