Shafston International College, located in Brisbane’s CBD, Queensland, Australia, has a range of English courses available from our personalized General English courses through to the globally recognized Cambridge English exam. All of our courses are run from our Brisbane river campus with very small class sizes and 100% face to face teacher student contact. Our English language courses are ideal for students just beginning to learn English through to experienced English speakers who wish to have their English level recognized with accreditation such as our Cambridge, IELTS, TOEFL or TOEIC exam preparation courses.

- General English. Modules: General English, Speaking, pronunciation and conversation skills, Academic English, Business English, Telephoning, Preparation for TOEIC, Preparation for TOEFL, Travel and Tourism, Cambridge First Certificate (FCE).

- TOEFL Exam Preparation. The TOEFL test is accepted as an admission requirement by universities and colleges in Canada and the USA. It is also accepted for university admission in Australia and the United Kingdom. Modules: Listening Comprehension, Structure and Written Expression, Reading Comprehension.

- TOEIC Exam Preparation. The TOEIC test is a two part, seven section multiple choice test which consists of 200 questions. Modules: Listening Comprehension, Reading Comprehension.

- IELTS Exam Preparation. A prescribed IELTS (International English Language Testing System) score is now required by many Australian and British universities and colleges as a qualification for entry into a formal program. Modules: Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking, Listening and Note Taking, Academic Reading and Writing, Vocabulary Extension, Study Skills, Report and Essay Writing, Library and Research Skills.

- Cambridge Exams. Cambridge exams are highly valued by employers in many countries, especially Europe. Shafston offers a very wide range of Cambridge preparation programs including: Cambridge BEC Vantage, Cambridge BEC Higher, Cambridge PET Exam Preparation, Cambridge FCE Exam Preparation, Cambridge CAE Exam Preparation, Cambridge CPE Exam Preparation.

With the Shafston Activities and Travel Centre there is something to do every weekend! Choose from Scuba Diving, Surfing, Animal Parks, Rainforest tours, Skydiving, Camping and much more! Located on-campus they are open every school day and the activities never stop.

Accommodation is available either on campus at the Shafston University Mansions or off campus with a Homestay family in the local area. Mansions accommodation gives students access to the Gym and Common Room and is located on floors 4 - 11 of the Shafston Kangaroo Point campus.

Due to the popularity of the Mansions and Homestay accommodation it is essential that students book ahead of time for either accommodtion. Most students inform us of their accommodation preference during their enrollment.

Each University Mansions apartment includes;

- Bed, wardrobe, study desk and lamp, dining table
- Bathroom
- Kitchen, fully equipped with a refrigerator, microwave oven, cook top, kettle, toaster, and cooking and dining utensils
- Telephone
- Bed linen and bath towels
- Rooms are professionally cleaned and the bed linen and bath towels changed weekly.

Home stay accommodation is organised with Australian families in the local area. There are 4 types of homestay accommodation available;
