Oriental Medicine Degree Program:
Course Duration: Minimum of 36 months (4 academic years). You have up to 6.5 years to complete the program on a part-time basis. Total hours of training: 2, 826 (199.8 credits).

In this program, you will learn the entire Acupuncture Program with an additional in depth knowledge of traditional Chinese herbs.

It provides an excellent combination of rigorous academic course work with broad clinical experiences. To complete the program in the minimum time frame, you attend classes on Saturday and a minimum of two evenings per week.

Course Content:
- Various forms of acupuncture
- Traditional herbs and formulas
- Nutrition
- Chinese food therapy

Upon completion of the Oriental Medicine Program you will have earned a Masters in Science of Oriental Medicine and a Bachelors of Science in Nutrition.

Acupuncture Certification Program:
Course Duration: Minimum of 30 months (3 academic years). You have up to 4.5 years to complete the program on a part-time basis. Total hours of training: 2,088 (143.2 credits).

In this program, you learn both meridian based and Zang Fu based treatment styles and well as electro-acupuncture. In addition, you are taught Tui Na (Chinese massage) and other modalities of Chinese medicine as Accessory techniques.

Upon successful completion of this program, you will be awarded a Masters Level Certification in Acupuncture. Graduates who pass the required board examination are eligible for licensure in both Wisconsin and Illinois.

Clinical Experience:
Internships are designed to build your skills and knowledge and to fine-tune patient/healer sensitivities. Our clinics provide you with the opportunity to rotate through a variety of unique clinical settings where interns experience the approach of many different practitioners.

MCOM interns treat a wide range of conditions and gain thorough, hands-on experience in acupuncture and the other physical modalities of Oriental healing, including moxibustion, Tui Na massage, and cupping.

Certification:
Successful completion of both programs will qualify you to sit for the examinations for Acupuncture certification given by the National Commission for Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and meet the requirements for license in Illinois, Wisconsin and many other states.
