Homeschooling Programs in Florida & Nationwide

A Beka Academy:
A Beka Academy, based in Escambia County, northwest Florida, is an accredited homeschool academy that offers distance learning programs for Kindergarten through 12th Grade students. Parents can supervise and be involved in your child’s learning process at home. A manual with easy-to-follow, step-by-step instructions makes this possible. Christian character building textbooks from A Beka Books are used with DVD or Internet Video Streaming for a college preparatory education. Record-keeping and consultation services are available.

A Beka Academy Homeschool Programs (K4 - Grade 12)
Video for Home School - You can enroll your child in the A Beka Academy Video Program for Home School. You will receive all necessary videos of master teachers from Pensacola Christian Academy teaching the children, a manual with day-by-day instructions, textbooks, workbooks, and answer keys.

Required Courses for Graduation:
- 24 total credits required for graduation (minimum of four credits with A Beka Academy in the 12th grade year).

- 4 credits in Bible
- 3 ½ credits in History
- 4 credits in English
- 4 credits in Math
- 3 credits in Science
- 1 credit in Physical Education
- 1 credit in Practical/Performing Arts
- 1 credit in Spanish
- 2½ elective credits

Accredited Video Program:
The Accredited Program from A Beka Academy is a fully accredited program that keeps report cards and transcripts. Under the parent’s supervision, students in grades nine through twelve receive credit toward graduation requirements and can earn a diploma from A Beka Academy. On a scheduled periodic basis, work is sent to the A Beka Academy Office for evaluation.

A Beka Academy will provide:
- all necessary textbooks, tests, quizzes, keys, and videos to complete grade/courses selected, based on program choice
- grade level placement based upon review of previous work completed
- an academic calendar
- progress reports for record keeping
- manual with daily lesson plans
- return mailing envelopes for student work and prepaid return labels for videos (for contiguous U.S. and Canada)
- evaluation of student work for each grading period
- a report card after each grading period
- an annual graduation ceremony
- one copy of the transcript free of charge
- academic assistance Monday–Friday 8 a.m.–4:45 p.m. CT
- credit toward graduation once all lessons have been viewed, assignments and tests have been completed, and passing grades have been earned
- a high school course offerings to meet graduation requirements for college preparatory program of study
- a diploma acknowledging completion of graduation requirements

Independent Study Program:
The parents receive books and the use of videos for independent instruction and are responsible to keep a record of the student’s grades and progress. Transcripts and diplomas are not issued from our office for the I.S. Program.

A Beka Academy will provide:
- all necessary textbooks, tests, keys, and videos to complete grades/courses selected, based on program choice
- manual with daily lesson plans
- progress reports for parents to keep their own records
- pre-paid return labels for DVDs (for contiguous U.S. and Canada) (if applicable)
- academic assistance Monday–Friday 8 a.m.–4:45 p.m. CT

A Beka Academy also offers an accredited Traditional Parent-Directed Program for children in K5 - Grade 6.
