Oaks Christian Online School:
Oaks Christian Online School offers an online / homeschool college preparatory high school diploma program for grades 9-12. We provide both full-time and part-time options to US and international students. Our full-time students follow a traditional school year calendar. Based in Westlake Village, Los Angeles County CA, Oaks Christian School understands the unique benefits of online schooling. Students study unique, college preparatory courses at home, at their own pace, with a flexible schedule. Part-time & full-time students have access to engaging Christian teachers, rigorous courses and a transcript that reflects the excellent reputation of our school.

Homeschool / Online Education Programs for High School Students:
We provide unique, college preparatory courses for both US and international students to study at home, at their own pace (flexible schedules).

Full-Time Students:
- Full-time students earn their Oaks Christian online high school diploma upon graduation.
- Full-time students take 5-6 core courses, as well as their yearly College Counseling & Spiritual Life courses.
- Note:  9th and 10th grade courses will be offered in the 2011-2012 school year for full-time students.  9th – 12th grade courses will be offered in the 2012-2013 school year.
- Full-time students follow a traditional school year calendar and have these additional benefits:

* College visits and counseling
* Community service, missions and chapels
* Payment plan options

Part-Time Students:
- Year-round part-time courses also available.
- Part-time students can take 1 or more online courses for credit from anywhere in the world. 
- Part-time students take online courses for many reasons, including: credit recovery, enrichment, remediation, supplementing home-schooling or traditional course load, AP course offering and many other reasons.
- Note:  Part-time students should check with their current school’s counseling department to verify that OCO courses will be accepted for their diploma and by any future colleges they may attend.

Graduation Requirements:
Oaks Christian Online School is a fully accredited, diploma granting institution based in California. Full-time students are required to complete 23.0 units to earn an Oaks Christian Online diploma. Students must complete the last 5 units, equivalent to 1 full year, while with Oaks Christian Online School.

Transfer credits will be reviewed on a student by student basis.  Students are required to maintain a minimum overall GPA of 2.0. An honors diploma will also be available to students who maintain a GPA of 3.75 or higher and have completed honors and AP level courses.

Flexible Schedules:
Successful full-time and part-time students create daily calendars to schedule adequate time to stay on pace with their course due dates. They are proactive self-advocates who reach out by email, phone or Skype to all the members of their support team when questions arise. Students who make the most of the flexibility that online learning offers also schedule social, work and hobby opportunities outside of school. These opportunities provide a balance between focused study hours and time to pursue other passions.

Student Life:
Students spend approximately one hour per day per course (for a traditional, full-time student), and additional time is needed for AP courses, dual-credit courses, community service and the weekly meetings for college counseling and spiritual life courses.

A full-time student taking five classes might expect to spend approximately 25-30 hours per week online, in off-line texts, participating in online chats, and completing school assignments. This can be considerably less time than a traditional school student spends who has to prepare in the morning, travel to and from school, and complete homework in the evening in addition to the school day.
