The College of Architecture and the Arts at University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in the disciplines of art history, architecture, performing arts, studio arts and design converge. Our Students:
The College of Architecture and the Arts is home to more than 1,100 UIC students. Eighty-five percent are undergraduates; approximately 40 percent of the undergraduate students major in architectural studies.

Lectures and Special Events:
Throughout the academic year, the college hosts weekly gatherings of students, faculty and professionals to view, discuss and critique work in each discipline. The weekly events offer students the opportunity to meet and interact with discipline leaders. Past lecturers have included Skidmore, Owings and Merrill partner William F. Baker, graphic designer Lisa Strausfeld, artist Glenn Ligon, and Chicago Jazz Philharmonic trumpeter and Associate Professor of Music Orbert Davis.

Location:

UIC’s location in the heart of Chicago provides a resourceful backdrop for students and a natural draw for top faculty. Students use the city as their library by studying well-known Chicago architecture, visiting museums and attending performances. Many faculty members are drawn to UIC because they are prominent members of Chicago’s arts scene and performance groups.
