The Bachelor of Science Degree: Media Arts (study in 3D Animation) Program prepares students in a broad range of design and technology skills for a career in multimedia and design. The tools of technology, from digital imaging to 3D modeling, have permeated the art and design-making process, resulting in a new breed of designers expressing their visual creativity through technology. The resulting changes in information architecture and interactive design have catapulted the primarily print media area of graphic design into new arenas that meld audio, video, text, graphics and animation.

Bachelor of Science Degree: Media Arts (study in DV):
Students graduating from the Bachelor of Science Degree: Media Arts (study in DV) program will enter the industry as video producers, editors, motion graphic artist and sound designers. Through academic requirements and hands-on projects students are provided with industry required practical and theoretical experience. Students will become well versed in After Effects, a compositing program for creating motion graphics. Numerous projects focusing on speed, trouble shooting, and rendering for multiple formats will prepare students to enter the industry.

Associate of Applied Science Degree: Graphic Design:
Students completing the Associate of Applied Science Degree: Graphic Design Program will have acquired the technical knowledge and the creative skills necessary for an entry-level position in the commercial art field and in the rapidly expanding field of electronic publishing. Upon completion of the requirements for this diploma, students will have expanded knowledge of multimedia and animation technologies as well as an understanding of how to apply aesthetic concepts and design techniques in the creation of interactive media and advanced 3D modeling and animation projects. Students will also have gained experience in the creation of special effects for electronic gaming, broadcast, and film industries. Specialized Diploma in Digital Video Production:
The Digital Video Production Program at Platt College prepares students for entry-level positions as video editors, motion graphics artists and digital compositors. The program utilizes industry-standard software, such as Adobe After Effects and Final Cut Pro utilizing HD format.
