eca offers an exciting range of undergraduate degree programmes in art, design, architecture and landscape architecture. Our BA (Hons) art and design degrees all share a common Year 1, called First Year Studies, which provides a balanced preparation for all discipines. If you have completed a foundation course or equivalent, you can also consider direct entry to Year 2 of our art and design programmes. In addition, we offer a part time degree programme, BA Combined Studies (Art and Design) which is normally completed in four to eight years of study. eca provides a BArch (Hons) degree in Architecture and BA (Hons)/MSc Integrated Masters in Landscape Architecture, the only institution in Scotland to offer this specialism. eca also collaborates with The University of Edinburgh on our established joint degree MA (Hons) Fine Art.

Postgraduate
Edinburgh College of Art offers both taught postgraduate degrees and higher degrees by research. Art and design taught postgraduate programmes are structured as follows:
- MA (eca): awarded after 45 weeks of full time study attendance. The MA includes a substantial body of project work and a dissertation completed over the summer term.
- MFA: a programme of 65 weeks completed over two academic years, finishing with a substantial project and dissertation.

The Graduate Research School (GRS) functions to support the needs of the research student community at the College. Its main aims are to provide research training, to co-ordinate a series of research student seminars, to ensure the Graduate Research School Code of Practice is followed, to liaise with supervisors and to work in partnership with other Schools of the College and Registry on matters relating to research students.
