Barlovento School of Spanish:
Established in 1995, Barlovento is an organization dedicated to promote teaching, studying and using Spanish as a second language in the Toronto and the GTA area with four convenient locations. Barlovento School of Spanish has a professional team of Spanish speaking Professors (Native and/or Spanish Language trained at a University Level in Spain or Latin America) with university education in a broad number of fields including languges, teaching, and adult education. We regularly hold training sessions to improve our teaching methods and incorporate the feedback we receive from students into our classes.

Conversational Spanish for Beginners:
Levels 1, 2, 3, & 4
In these courses you will get a basic introduction to Spanish. Our method of teaching is based on a conversational-cultural approach, which makes language learning fun and interactive. We incorporate video, music, role playing and news articles into conversation as well as introductory grammar. Our classes are set in a small group of students (4 to 10 people). Every class is 90 minutes in length and every course lasts 5 weeks.

Conversational Spanish Intermediate:
Continue to learn the Spanish language using a cultural approach. In this course you will develop your speaking skills and master the correct use of pronouns, prepositions and Spanish verbs in present, past and future tenses. Every class of 90 minutes will have activities such as: Spanish songs, videos, readings, open conversations in Spanish as well as writing exercises. All courses last five weeks. Classes are held once or twice a week.

Conversational Spanish Advanced:
This course will provide students with the opportunity to enhance their speaking skills , practice grammar and develop new writing skills.
Small group classes and the use of videos and songs will create a relaxed atmosphere, where learning is fun and easy.

Business Spanish:
Spanish language training for your business and travel needs. We use the latest interactive on-line resources to give you the support needed to learn a language in a workplace environment, along with traditional resources.

Spanish Interactive for Children:
Spanish interactive is an immersion of activities and games in Spanish. This entertaining and educational language program is taught through drama, music , art, games and culture.  The classes are held in spacious classrooms full of light, art and Spanish culture. The teacher student ratio is one teacher for every 6 students. There is a teacher and a teaching assistant on site every class (one male, one female).
