But you have to have in mind that the prices vary greatly between seasons and are often twice as high during the summer. Most hotels divide the year into three seasons and June to September is the high season. The same goes for renting apartments.
The school will arrange culture excursions for days or weekends to towns and cities like Sevilla, Cordoba and the white towns (Los pueblos blancos).
There are many ways to entertain yourself in Tarifa. The town itself and its streets are lively. On offer are many types of courses and excursions. For example kite-and windsurfing, rock climbing, diving and horseback riding.
In Tarifa and nearby towns there are a lot of festivals all year round. Among the greatest are the carnival in February and Easterweek which no one should miss. If you haven't experienced a Spanish Easter festival this is a great opportunity to get to know the culture of the country.
In the beginning of May there is a great horse festival in Jerez which is nearby. Then the inhabitants ride beautiful horses through town.
For the first two weeks in August there is a folklore festival in Tarifa. The towns people play and sing and have fun as only they can.
The main festival in Tarifa is "Fiestas de la Virgen de la Luz" to honour the holy virgin of the light. It is in the beginning of September and is one week long. All the townspeople participate in it. "La virgen" is honored by food and drink. The people dress in national costumes and horsemen and their steeds are the main attractions in this great festival.
