With schools in Seattle and Eastside (convenient for students from Bellevue, Kirkland & Redmond WA), Sponge is a language immersion school that offers Spanish classes for young children from newborn through elementary school. Our Spanish immersion programs include Child/Caregiver Classes (ages 0-4), Just Kids Classes (ages 3+), and Elementary School Classes (K-5th Grades). In addition to our on-site courses, we also offer our classes at top daycare, preschools and elementary schools in the area.

Around the age of 10, children go through a developmental stage where they accept what is familiar and turn away from what is different. By making other language and culture a part of your child's life from a young age, you're more likely to get a teenager who embraces it, too.

- Biologically Ready:
The brain is primed to acquire language by the age of 4. If you live in certain areas of Switzerland, chances are good that your child speaks several languages. And, if you live in China, learning a tonal language comes naturally.

The brain focuses on sounds, then syntax, then vocabulary in the language it's bathed in. We want to give your child's brain a nice bath, and make language learning natural.

Studies have found higher math scores, higher verbal scores, higher social studies scores and higher SAT scores for children who study another language. Our teachers are a diverse group who come from all over the world including Puerto Rico, Chile, Colombia, France, Japan, China and Taiwan. Many have degrees in language and education and years of experience in teaching.

Many are parents themselves and experience personally the joys -- and challenges -- of raising bilingual children. Sponge also offers Mandarin, French and Japanese instruction.

We have two conveniently located centers--and we're also happy to bring our classes to your child's daycare, preschool or elementary school.

- Our Seattle center is located in the Leschi/Mt. Baker Ridge neighborhood with easy freeway access and accessible street parking.
- Located in Kirkland's Houghton Village, our Eastside center is also convenient for students from Bellevue and Redmond WA. It offers easy access from I-405 and SR-520, and has plenty of parking.

We also offer classes in Lynnwood in the North Seattle area.
