Delfin English School:
Delfin provides an exciting dynamic environment in which to rapidly improve your English in the heart of Dublin. Delfin is located in the heart of Dublin, only a short walk from St. Stephen's Green, the River Liffey and the social centre of Dublin, Temple Bar. Delfin has various classes from Beginners to Advanced and you will take a placement test on arrival to determine the level which will best suit your requirements. Our teachers are university and TEFL qualified and make the classes interesting and lively.
The General English Course
The General English Courses have a strong emphasis on conversation although the competencies of reading, writing and listening are also practiced.
The curriculum for all courses is well-planned and the emphasis is on making the classes as interesting as possible while improving your level of English as rapidly as possible.
The Exam Preparation Courses
Delfin provides courses to prepare students for most of the major internationally recognised English exams including:
Cambridge Exams - General English (FCE, CAE, CPE, PET)
The most common exam taken by our students is the Cambridge First Certificate examination (FCE), which is an upper-intermediate level exam and tests the four basic skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing.
The CAE (Certificate in Advanced English) and CPE (Certificate of Proficiency in English) are for advanced levels and the PET (Preliminary English Test) is an intermediate level exam. Although these exams test the four basic skills, there is still a strong emphasis on conversation in the classes.
Business English Exams (BEC)
As well as our regular Business courses we also prepare for the BEC exams. These are a suite of Cambridge business exams which are designed to test English language ability used in the context of business.
IELTS (International English Language Testing System)
The IELTS Exam is a standardised test that can be taken by students of varying ability. It is useful for students when applying for jobs or for English speaking universities/colleges.
Business English Courses
Our business courses are intensive one/two week courses which focus on improving your business and general English as quickly as possible. We can tailor the courses to suit your requirements as we have years of business/finance experience to make the courses as relevant and practical as possible for you.

Delfin caters for all types of students and as well as our General English, Business English and Exam Preparation courses, we offer individual tuition and other courses including sports participation or covering areas such as law, medicine and construction vocabulary.
Our individual course can take place at any time and includes full entitlement to our other services.

The Language Centre at University College Cork offers intensive courses and part time courses in ELT during the academic year, and also has a Summer School from July to mid-September. The courses are open to both students of UCC, and those who wish to take one of the many courses available at the centre.
