If you are interested in learning Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese or any other dialect of the Chinese language, ABC Languages in Downtown San Francisco, the Bay Area & Online is an excellent choice. Conveniently situated in the Financial District, we provide group lessons in Mandarin Chinese and Cantonese for beginner through advanced levels. We also offer private Chinese lessons for adults, kids, and teens. Private Chinese tutoring can take place at our language school or at your home, office, or other suitable location in San Francisco. For your convenience, we offer day, evening, and weekend lessons as well as online Chinese lessons in California & nationwide.

• Total Beginner Group Classes:
Available for Mandarin Chinese & Cantonese

- Evening Mandarin Chinese Classes
Evening classes meet once a week for 1.5 hours. (Minimum 3 / Maximum 10 students). 

Designed for those with no previous exposure to Mandarin Chinese, our Total Beginner classes teach you basic grammar and vocabulary to develop conversational fluency and practical skills.

Instructors and materials use Pinyin and Simplified characters. You will begin character recognition/reading comprehension at the intermediate level.

Traditional character texts and classroom use can be supplied on request.

- Evening Cantonese Classes
8 week course. Evening classes meet once a week for 1.5 hours. (Minimum 3 / Maximum 10 students). 

- Intensive Chinese Classes
Available for Mandarin Chinese & Cantonese. Class meets on Saturdays for 3 hours.

There is a minimum class size of 3 students and a maximum of 10. If enrollment is less than 3 students, lessons are shortened to 2 hours.


• Above Beginner Group Classes:
If you are not a total beginner in Mandarin Chinese or Cantonese, you will need to be evaluated before confirming your enrollment in a class.

Standard Mandarin Chinese or Cantonese classes meet once a week for 1.5 hours. (Minimum 3 / Maximum 10 students).


• Private Chinese Lessons:
Available for Mandarin Chinese & Cantonese
Private Chinese lessons mean you can learn at your own pace and according to your own schedule. One-on-one lessons are also the most intensive way to immerse yourself in a foreign language. 

You may set up any day or time for your classes, including weekends and evening hours. The lessons may be held at your San Francisco home, office, or at our language institute in Downtown San Francisco.

Students meet with their private teacher from once a week to every day. Total immersion courses are ideal for people relocating to China and may include a cross-cultural training component.


• Online Chinese Lessons:
Available for Mandarin Chinese & Cantonese

Virtual language lessons mean learning a language from the comfort of your own home or office. No travel time, no rushing to make it to class.

Online Chinese classes are one-on-one, private lessons with your own teacher. All you need is an Internet connection, web camera and audio headset.

Just log in to Skype and meet your teacher virtually at a time convenient for you. Learn at your own pace, and focus on the areas that most need improvement.
