Makeup Artist Certificate Programs

Makeup Artistry (Beginner):
Classroom Hours: 24
Take the first step towards a new career as a professional makeup artist! This comprehensive course has been specially designed for beginner artists and first-time Certificate level for self-taught artists.

Industry training / practical hours are available to build your resume. There are no pre-requisites for this course.

All students must take a written test and practical exam to graduate. Full kit included when registering for beginner makeup and all advanced courses, ask for details.

Course Content:
Sanitization, Skin Anatomy, Face Shapes, Color Theory, Highlighting/Contouring, Full advanced hands on application 

Advanced Fashion Makeup Artistry:
Classroom / Studio Hours: 30. Studio Portfolio Shoots: 4
Designed for those who want to learn advanced Fashion Makeup techniques, this course combines classroom, studio and industry practice hours.

To qualify for admission, you must have completed the GLOW Academy Makeup Artistry Certification or equivalent from a credible school. All students must take a written test and practical exam to graduate.

Course Content:
Period Makeup, Photography Makeup, Trends, Runway, Stage/Theatre

Airbrush Makeup Artistry: 
Classroom / Studio Hours: 6 
To stay competitive in the marketplace, airbrush makeup skills are now essential for every makeup artist. In this course, you will learn the art of Airbrush Artistry and progress with current trends. VANITYAIR Airbrush Kit included.

Course Content:
Airbrush Safety, Touchless Foundation, blush, contour application.

To qualify for admission, you must have completed the GLOW Academy Makeup Artistry Certification or equivalent from a credible school. All students must take a written test and practical exam to graduate. 

Advanced Bridal Makeup Artistry:
Classroom Hours: 30. Studio Portfolio Shoots: 4
Combining advanced makeup classes and portfolio shoots, this course is designed for those who want to learn the art and business of Bridal Makeup Artistry.

Course Content:
Advanced training to accommodate the Natural/Classic Bride, Glamour Bride, and ethnic Bridal looks such as the Middle Eastern and South Asian Bride. This course also includes a Bridal Business Class.

To qualify for admission, you must have completed the GLOW Academy Makeup Artistry Certification or equivalent from a credible school. All students must take a written test and practical exam to graduate.

Fantasy Makeup:
Classroom / Studio Hours: 16. Studio Portfolio Shoots: 4
Add some creative flare to your portfolio with this combination of classroom and photo shoot hours.

Course Content:
Learn such techniques as Skeletal Makeup, Masquerade, Geisha, Pop Art and other creative themes.

To qualify for admission, you must have completed the GLOW Academy Makeup Artistry Certification or equivalent from a credible school. All students must complete a practical assessment. 

TV & Special Effects Makeup: 
Classroom / Studio Hours: 16. Studio Portfolio Shoots: 4 
Become a well rounded makeup artist by learning the requirements of television and film special effects makeup. These skills are required by Industry Unionized Artists. Industry experience is available for graduates.

Course Content:
Television Makeup for male and female, Aging effects, Cuts, Bruises, Broken Noses, Burns and Frost Effects.

To qualify for admission, you must have completed the GLOW Academy Makeup Artistry Certification or equivalent from a credible school. All students must complete a practical assessment. 

Hair Design Certificate Programs:

Hair Design:
Classroom / Studio Hours: 21. Industry / Practical Hours: 15. Studio Portfolio Shoots: 2
Hair design skills are required for many makeup artistry jobs. This course is designed to provide you with the skills you need to take on hair alongside makeup jobs.

There are no prerequisites for entry to this course. All students must complete a written test and practical exam before graduating.

Course Content:
Hair Anatomy, Hot Tools, Hair Products, Hair Classification and Textures, Backcombing, Sectioning, Curling, Pinning and Setting.

Fashion Hair Design:
Classroom / Studio Hours: 15. Studio Portfolio Shoots: 2 
With a focus on Fashion Editorial Hair Design, this course aims to teach you creative design skills. This fun and fierce set of classes and portfolio shoots will help to take your portfolio to the next level. Industry experience is available to graduates.

To qualify for admission, you must have completed the GLOW Academy Hair Design Certification or equivalent from a credible school. All students must complete a practical assessment. 

Bridal Hair Design:
Classroom / Studio Hours: 21. Studio Portfolio Shoots: 2 
With a focus on bridal and party updos, this power packed set of advanced classes and portfolio shoots will teach you the art and business of Bridal Hair Design.

To qualify for admission, you must have completed the GLOW Academy Hair Design Certification or equivalent from a credible school.

All students must complete a practical assessment. Industry experience is available to graduates.

Hair Extensions:
Classroom / Studio Hours: 15. Studio Portfolio Shoots: 2
Learning various hair extension techniques helps makeup artists and hair stylists alike to cater to the demand of a rapidly growing market. The only prerequisite is an understanding of basic hair design.

Course Content:
Theory and hands-on, step-by-step training on Hair Extension methods: micro ring, weaving, & fusion hair application. Industry experience is available to graduates. A kit (fusion, micro ring & weaving tools) is included.

Aesthetics Certificate Programs:
Classes are available mornings, evenings and Saturdays. 

Facial Certificate:
Classroom Hours: 12. Clinical Hours: 20-25 
This course covers skin anatomy, skin analysis and hands on techniques. There are no prerequisites for this course. Each student must take a written test and practical exam. 

Lash Extensions:
Classroom Hours: 6. Clinical Hours: 25-30
This course covers lash anatomy to hands on techniques. The kit is included. There are no prerequisites for this course. Each student must take a written test and practical exam.

Acrylic Nails:
Classroom Hours: 12. Clinical Hours: Available for additional practice
Pre-requisites: Manicure Certificate or Nail Theory Class. Practical assessment required for each student.

Gel Nails:
Classroom Hours: 12. Clinical Hours: Available for additional practice 
Pre-requisites: Manicure Certificate or Nail Theory Class. Practical assessment required for each student.

Spa Manicure
Classroom Hours: 12. Clinical Hours: Included
This course covers: Nail Anatomy, Sanitization, Nail Diseases and Disorders, Sterilization, Hands on techniques. You will also learn Shellac and Paraffin training, plus Nail Art. There are no prerequisites for this course. A kit / manicure tools are included. Each student must take a written test and practical exam. 

Spa Pedicure
Classroom Hours: 12. Clinical Hours: Included
There are no prerequisites for this course. Course content includes Nail Anatomy, Hands on Techniques, Nail Diseases & Disorders, Sanitization & Sterilization. A kit with pedicure tools is included. Each student must take a written test and practical exam.

Relaxation & Hot Stone Massage:
Classroom Hours: 12. Clinical Hours: Available for additional practice 
There are no prerequisites for this course. Each student must complete a practical assessment.
