Teachers at ILSC are carefully selected for their ability to inspire and motivate students. Every teacher is dedicated to helping students succeed. Our staff includes a team of friendly, supportive Cultural Counsellors who can help you in your native language. Whatever challenges you encounter academically or personally, counsellors and teachers are here to listen and help.

* Programs and Courses
ILSC offers a wide range of courses. You can choose from Full-time Intensive to Part-time study schedules and you can take any combination of courses you wish, depending on your interests, goals, language level and schedule. Most courses are offered at many different levels and last four weeks. At the end of the four week session, your language level will be assessed and you can choose new courses and/or move up a level in your current course. We have small class sizes with an average of 9-10 and a maximum of 14 students per class.

Getting outside to play and explore is a cornerstone of the ILSC experience. It’s a chance to relax after class, and spend time with your new friends while practicing French in the real world. Whatever your interests, there are activities to match – from rock climbing and baseball games to theatre and music festivals. An ILSC staff member will be your guide, and the only costs are transportation and entry fees where required.

Staying in a Homestay will give you an excellent opportunity to practice your French conversation skills and experience French-Canadian culture and family life. Our Montréal Homestay Department is dedicated to placing you with good families in Montréal living between 40-60 minutes from the school; these homes are safe, secure, inspected and approved by our Homestay Program Coordinators.

You will be provided with your own house key and a clean, comfortable, private room and you will receive three healthy, adequate meals a day. The room will be equipped with a desk, a bed with sheets and blankets, dresser, closet, good lighting and towels. Our Montréal Homestay Department is available to assist you whenever you have questions or want to talk.

ILSC is proud to present the Alternative Accommodations Placement Program in Montréal, Canada. With this program, students studying at ILSC can now be placed with various types of accommodation options.

Programs:

Our activities make the most of the four distinct Canadian seasons. Attend the school in the summer and take up bicycling, rollerblading, golfing, kayaking or learn how to salsa in the summer heat. Enjoy winter sports like tobogganing, skiing and skating or come in from the cold for indoor rock-climbing, movie nights, live basketball games and much more. Fresh air nature hikes are easily accessible all year round. You pay only for your transportation and entrance fees. An ILSC teacher or Activities Coordinator is your guide.

We also have an Activities Coordinator who arranges after school outings to explore everything from historic Old Montréal to the International Jazz Festival to cross-country skiing on Mount Royal.
