General English – Beginner to Advanced
The course uses communicative English language teaching and concentrates on the four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. You will also focus on vocabulary development, pronunciation, fluency practice, conversation skills and practice of grammatical structures.

BROWNS Active8 Programme has been carefully designed to be wide-ranging, comprehensive and very practical.
We cover the core language learning skills in the morning and give you extra time in the afternoons to focus on specific areas such as grammar, speaking, vocabulary expansion, listening and pronunciation, as well as covering English for your daily life to help you manage in a variety of social situations.

By enrolling in Active8, you benefit from a focused, integrated course covering the 8 skills and systems that lead to English fluency. For every hour in the classroom, you can achieve clear learning outcomes that help you fulfill your learning goals.

Cambridge First Certificate in English
Our Cambridge FCE Preparation Course will help you prepare for the First Certificate in English examination. The course includes essential English language skills, plus invaluable training in examination techniques, including mock exams with past papers.

Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English
Our Cambridge CAE Preparation Course will help you prepare for the Certificate in Advanced English examination. This course includes essential English language skills, plus invaluable training in examination techniques, including mock exams with past papers.

Business English
Our Business English Course is designed for students who intend to improve their business communication skills. The Course provides lessons which focus on useful language in realistic situations and will help build confidence in using English in areas such as telephoning, meetings, making arrangements, negotiating and networking.

IELTS Preparation
Our IELTS Preparation course will help you reach the required IELTS score for university, college/TAFE or immigration purposes. The focus of the course is on developing effective reading, writing, listening and speaking strategies, writing academic essays, reading advanced level texts, improving oral fluency and practicing IELTS tests. English + Tennis
BROWNS offers you the opportunity to combine 19 hours of General English with two (2 hour) tennis lessons per week. Tennis lessons are conducted at the Queens Park Tennis Centre. Our Tennis Coaches are qualified members of the ATPCA. Tennis lessons include: racquets and balls.

English + Golf
BROWNS offers you the opportunity to combine 19 hours of General English with two (2 hour) golf lessons per week. Golf lessons are conducted at a nearby championship golf course. Our Golf Instructors are all fully accredited professional golfers with the PGA. Golf lessons include: driving range balls and swing analysis reports.

English + Scuba-Diving
This course is designed for students who would like to study 23 hours of General English per week and attain a PADI Open Water Diving certificate. Scuba-diving lessons are conducted by experienced and registered operators with proven safety records.

English + Surfing
This popular course combines 19 hours of General English with two (2 hour) surf lessons per week. Our surf lessons are conducted by accredited professional surfing coaches from 'Surfing Australia'. Surf lessons include: surfboards, bodyboards, wetsuits, rash vests and evaluation reports.

BROWNS offers you the opportunity to study 19 hours of General English and work twice a week as an unpaid volunteer at a Child Care Centre or an Aged Care Facility. This course is designed for students who want to practice their English skills with Australian native speakers as well as gain an understanding of the professional workplace environment.
