BridgeArgentina, Buenos Aires:
BridgeArgentina offers a practical, proven and communicative approach that will have you speaking Spanish from the very first day. Our professional teachers are qualified, dedicated, enthusiastic, and know how to make classes fun and effective. We offer a rich program of activities, excursions, and special courses that allow you to make the most of your time in Argentina.
We're so sure you'll enjoy your BridgeArgentina Spanish program that we guarantee it! If you're not happy with our services or if you have to cancel your course for any reason, we'll promptly refund the unused portion of your program.
No Translation in Class
We use the direct method of language instruction, which means that the student and the teacher speak only in the language being learned. There is never any translation in the classroom and this makes you talk and think in Spanish. Students are always amazed at how quickly and easily they learn with this method!
Teacher Rotation
The people you speak with every day all have different accents, voices, pronunciation, and vocabulary; therefore, it is important that you not become accustomed to just one teacher. We rotate teachers in class, exposing you to many types of speakers and ensuring that you understand the language in a variety of situations. Teacher rotation also keeps class fresh and interesting.
Emphasis on Communication
Our methodology focuses on speaking and listening. Grammar, reading, and writing are all included, but we teach it through a very practical approach without being tedious, boring, or repetitive. You will speak the language, not analyze it. We believe that the key to learning a new language is communication.
Materials & Homework
Study materials such as textbooks and workbooks are included in your program. Additionally, you may be assigned a small amount of homework. This will give you the opportunity to continue your language learning outside the classroom and to supplement your conversational instruction with some reading and writing.
Group
20 class hours per week (15 hours per week in groups with 1 or 2 students)
The Group Course offers language instruction in small, dynamic groups for four hours per day. The maximum number of students in BridgeArgentina Spanish classes is four. We pride ourselves on our ability to fine-tune the formation of group classes according to the level of the students studying with us.
Group Plus
30 class hours per week
The Group+ Course consists of four hours per day of the Group Course plus two hours per day of private lessons. This popular program gives you the best of both worlds: the interaction of a group class with the focus and efficiency of a private class.
Private 4
20 class hours per week
Private lessons are a very effective way to learn a foreign language. The one-on-one approach allows you to learn at your own pace as well as focus on your individual language needs. In a private class, you can concentrate on certain grammar points or on specific vocabulary that you may need. Private 4 consists of four hours per day of private lessons.
Private 6
30 class hours per week
The Private 6 Course takes the same approach as Private 4, but increases class time to six hours per day of private lessons.
Immersion
40 class hours per week
Immersion is the most intensive and effective course we offer. It consists of eight hours per day of private lessons, which includes lunch with your teacher. For years, Immersion has been our most popular program with executives and professionals who want to learn a lot in a short period of time. With an Immersion Course, you can super charge your language training, learning in weeks what would normally take a year or more.
Live & Learn
Any number of hours can be added to any of the above courses. This program is effective and enjoyable! It is not an entire course in itself, rather an addition to a Group or Private course. Live and Learns are 2-hour classes outside of the classroom where you will visit local points of interest, accompanied by your own private instructor, and practice your new language outside the classroom. Whether it's ordering a meal, buying tickets to a show, or asking about an animal in the zoo, this is a fun and practical application of language learning that will really make you feel like part of the community!
Combine Cities
Want to study abroad, but can't decide on only one location? Now you don't have to! Another exciting program option is to start your course in one city and continue it in another, making the most of your trip abroad. For example, you could start by taking two weeks of Spanish in Buenos Aires, Argentina, followed by another two weeks in Santiago, Chile. This option would allow you to experience the unique culture of Argentina and then enjoy the natural wonders of Chile. By spending time in more than one city, you get to know the sites, people, and cultures of different locations.
Special Programs
In addition to our standard language courses, we also offer Special Programs in areas of interest such as dance, music, history, art and more. Special Programs are taught in Spanish with two goals in mind: to improve your language ability and to help you learn more about your particular area of interest. For more information, please see our Special Programs page.
Activities and excursions are a great way to practice your Spanish outside of class while getting to know the culture around you. BridgeArgentina offers complimentary activities including staff and student happy hours and the Cine Club, where you can get together with classmates to watch an Argentinean movie. Another popular option (available for a small additional charge) is tango lessons with a professional instructor.
To help you explore the fascinating city of Buenos Aires while continuing to practice your Spanish, the school also arranges two guided afternoon excursions per week. Excursions are included in the cost of all programs; however, students are expected to pay for their own public transportation costs and entrance fees (if applicable). Some of the excursions we offer are described below. We invite you to participate in as many as possible to truly make the most of your time in Argentina!
BridgeArgentina is centrally located with easy access to all forms of public transportation. The school is in Las Catalinas, an area of modern, high-rise buildings in downtown Buenos Aires. We are just blocks from the Retiro train station and close to Puerto Madero. Our school office has 8 classrooms with TVs and DVD players, central heat and air-conditioning, computers with free Internet and WiFi, and an outdoor area where students can smoke, have a coffee or hang out. You'll find our school's staff welcoming and professional, and always ready to help you with whatever you may need during your time with us.
