A Nursing Aide (NA) assists individuals with daily healthcare needs - under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). Job duties include oral care, dressing, feeding, hair care, bed-making, nail care, bathing, positioning, motion exercises, vital sign testing and more.
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Training Program:
Duration: 4 weeks
This is a certificate-issuing course that prepares students for the state licensing exam (a requirement in Virginia to become a Certified Nursing Assistant).
After you finish our 4 week nursing assistant program, you earn a Certificate of Completion from Astar. Students can then schedule their state licensing exam if they wish to pursue the certified nursing assistant (CNA) path.
The 120-hour course is broken down into a combination of classroom theory hours, skills lab, and clinical practice hours. Topics / modules include:

• Communication & Interpersonal Relationships
