The College of Business at Tennessee Tech University:
The College of Business at Tennessee Tech University is an accredited leading Business School offering undergraduate and graduate degree programs. We offer both a campus and 100% distance-based Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree program. Tennessee Tech is located in Cookeville, Tennessee, a city approximately seventy miles east of Nashville, in the southeastern United States.

Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree Program:

On Campus and Distance Learning
The purpose of the M.B.A degree is to offer a professional program preparing graduate students from diverse backgrounds for rewarding careers in organizations. The core area of business studies is broad in scope for the purpose of developing general managerial competence through extensive use of various pedagogies such as case methods, simulations, and research projects. Electives are used to develop special competencies of interest to the student.

Course features include:
- Provide a high level of confidence that will allow the student to cope with uncertainty, communicate effectively, and to make decisions in an increasingly complex and global business environment.
- Provide an awareness and appreciation of the legal, ethical, social, political, and economic environments of business.

The College of Business is distinguished by undergraduate, graduate, and special accounting accreditation by the AACSB International, recognition accorded to only about 10 percent of the nation's colleges and schools of business.

Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) Degree Programs:

Accounting Major:
The accounting program is characterized by top-notch instructors and high-quality classes. A continual stream of highly beneficial extra-curricular activities provide students with direct access to a wide variety of practicing professionals from employers such as international accounting firms, the Internal Revenue Service, Business & Industry, and government. The Accounting Department has a highly successful internship program. Every year via placement with employers, students participating in the department's internship program get real-world exposure to the accounting workplace.

Management Major:
In the first two years our students are advised by the Student Success Center . Upon completion of the business core, students then affiliate into one of our four business management options:

- General Management,
- Human Resource Management,
- Management Information Systems (MIS),
- Production/Operations.

Economics Major:
Graduates initially work as junior members of a team in carrying out economics research projects needed for making various business decisions. In most cases the project will be a type of impact study of potential decision/policy options. For multinational corporations and government agencies, the typical economic analysis will include incorporation of social, political, and cultural factors. For such large organizations, each entry level employee is given an opportunity to develop a specialization area with respect to either business sectors (industry specialist) or geographical regions (“country desk” specialist, specializing for example, in Southeastern United States or Latin America).

Finance Major:
The curriculum in Finance offers a program that will assure sound preparation for those who expect to pursue professional careers in finance, as well as in other businesses. The program is designed to provide a solid understanding of the financial decision-making process with special emphasis on computer-assisted decision making.

Marketing Major:
Marketing majors receive a strong general education that includes accounting, economics, corporate finance, production management, business communications, and management information systems. You can also receive more specialized instruction in areas like advertising management, marketing research, customer service, price analysis, product management, sales and sales management, and retail management. arketing personnel require excellent interpersonal skills, computer skills, and a creative and innovative spirit.

International Business and Cultures Major:
The World Cultures & Business major, initiated in the fall of 1998, is a unique program offering a joint B.S. degree in the College of Arts & Sciences and the College of Business. The mission of this four-year program is to prepare our students for careers in international business. Students in this program prpare for their careers through the study of foreign languages and cultures combined with a concentration in international business.
