Spanish-American Institute of International Education, Seville: Established in 1984, The Spanish-American Institute of International Education (SAIIE) offers study abroad programs for college students from all over the USA, including the study abroad program for University of Wisconsin-Platteville. We offer 3 semester programs: Fall, Spring and Summer. Seville is located in the community of Andalusia in south-western Spain and is only 1 hour from Madrid and Barcelona by air. No prior knowledge of Spanish is required. Students study Spanish Language on the appropriate level and take the remainder of their courses in Spanish or in English, depending on their level of fluency.

Intensive Spanish Language Track: Designed for students on the beginning and intermediate levels who want to focus solely on the acquisition of Spanish. Students cover four levels of Spanish (16 credits) in sequence, so it is not possible to take liberal arts or international business courses at the same time. The semester calendar parallels the calendar in the Liberal Arts/International Business Track so that students can participate in the optional field trips or cultural activities if they wish. Spanish Tutoring: There is a Spanish Language tutor available every class day to assist students with their language skills.
Practical Spanish and Intercambio Program: This class will be offered to students one hour per week. Students will be placed into the appropiate language levels to better adapt the class to the students needs and conversation levels.
Every student in the program is assigned an intercambio partner, a native Spaniard with whom to meet at least once a week. The intercambio activities will take place outside the classroom so the student can practice their Spanish on site and in context. Written compositions on the topics assigned will be submitted to the Instructor.
Artistic Monuments of Seville Course: Beginning with the Spring 2012 semester - In addition to required language study, students are also enrolled in the Artistic Monuments of Seville course (taught in English or Spanish) which provides an intentional introduction to and immersion into the city of Seville.
