Founded in 1992, The Esthetic Institute is an aesthetics and cosmetics training school located in Vienna, Virginia. We offer a range of full and part-time training and certification programs in cosmetology specialties that include Esthetics, Medical Esthetics, Laser Hair Removal, Laser Skin Specialist, Massage Therapist, Makeup Artistry, Permanent Cosmetics, and more.

Cosmetology & Aesthetics Certificate Programs:

Esthetics (Standard, 600 Hours)
The program includes theory, lab and clinical practice. The curriculum is designed to provide you with the knowledge to pass your state board examination for licensing and professional training. Hands on lab exercises and clinical practice are a key part of this program so that you can apply what you have learned.

Medical Esthetics (150 Hours)
This program combines our laser program for Laser Hair Removal, Laser Skin Specialists (photo rejuvenation tightening) and our Microdermabrasion certification along with medical terminology, sanitation and Pre/Post clinical care. This course is aimed towards Estheticians who wish to work in a clinical or medical office along side a Medical professional.

Master Esthetics (600 Hours)
The course objective is to establish a specific and professional role for the esthetician in the field of skin care with focus on Microdermabrasion, Chemical Exfoliations, Lymphatic Drainage as well as develop a high level of knowledge of cosmetic medicine and dermal therapy skills.

Massage Therapy (600 Hours)
Instruction in this program teaches you massage techniques so you learn to assess and customize client's individual needs.

Makeup Artistry
A program developed to include basic make-up that includes color theory, study of the structure of the face, contouring and shading. Students learn application and techniques covering day and evening, bridal and special event, photography, and fashion.

Permanent Cosmetics (90 Hours)
Successful completion of the basic training provides everything that is required to immediately begin application procedures, from the technique to the equipment and supplies.

Waxing Technician (115 Hour)
The emphasis of this course is to study the growth of hair and removal methods. Through lectures, demonstrations, and practice, students will be taught all of the skills needed to become a professional waxing technician.

Nail Technician (150 hours)
Nail students are enrolled for the purpose of learning manicuring and pedicuring. After completing this course and passing the exam, student will be able to obtain entry-level employment in a salon as a manicurist and pedicurist. 

Laser Hair Removal (3 Day Course)
With the high demand of laser hair removal the demand for certified technicians has also risen. This 3 day program will focus on in-depth hands-on practical experience. The Esthetic Institute is an Authorized Training Facility for the Industry Leader in Laser Technology. This course is for a Physician, Nurse, Esthetician or technician in a physician supervised cosmetic practice.

Laser Skin Specialist (3 Day Course)
Laser/IPL Photo rejuvenation, is one of the hottest topics in cosmetic services industry, and the demand for certified technicians has also risen. This 3 day program will focus on in-depth hands-on practical experience . The Esthetic Institute is an Authorized Training Facility for the Industry Leader in Laser Technology. This course is for a Esthetician, Physician, Nurse or PA in a physician supervised cosmetic practice

Electrolysis (250 hours)
This program is specifically designed to meet the needs of the public, demanding employers and of any one interested in becoming a true professional in the field of hair removal.
