The Design and Arts College of New Zealand (D&A) in Christchurch, New Zealand is the South Island’s only tertiary institute dedicated to design and arts education. We offer certificate and diploma courses in fields including Art; Interior Design; Photography; Fashion Design; Makeup Design among others. We also offer a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree program in in partnership with Whitecliffe College of Arts and Design.

Christchurch is the second largest city in New Zealand and is located on the East Coast of the South Island. It is approximately 1 hr 20 mins flight from Auckland and 55 minutes flight from the capital city, Wellington. With a population of almost 400,000, Christchurch, the largest city in the South Island, is clean and beautiful and is located on the east coast of the South Island. Ski slopes, beaches, lakes, rivers and mountains are all with an easy 1-2 hours drive from the heart of the city. The international airport offers direct links to Asia, Australia and the Pacific.

Christchurch is known as the “Garden City” as there are many beautiful gardens and parks. The city also boasts lovely architecture and historic buildings. The city is a thriving, cosmopolitan business, educational, and arts centre with an enticing atmosphere. The central city has a large library, recreational center (with swimming pool and gym), gardens, museum, art center, art galleries, internet cafes, markets and a range of shops to cater for all budgets. Malls can be found in most major suburbs. There is also a free shuttle service in the central city and the college is a minute walk away from Chinese, Indian and Japanese restaurants.
