This course provides test engineers and test team leaders with the main ideas, processes, tools and skills they need in order to set themselves on a path for true testing professionalism. This hands-on course covers the major test design techniques with lecture and exercises. Certified Tester Advanced Level - Test Manager - ISTQB:
Being a technical manager is hard enough, but managing the testing process is a unique challenge, requiring judgment, agility, and organization. The course covers the essential tools, critical processes, significant considerations, and fundamental management skills for people who lead or manage development and maintenance test efforts. It describes the development and use of the test plan, the test system, the bug tracking database, and the test tracking spreadsheet. It covers the “people skills” needed to define your test team, hire the appropriate people, manage that team’s relationships with peers and managers, and distribute test work to other participants. Finally, the course addresses the contextual issues of test projects, such as the economics of testing, the test effort within the project.
Project Management:
A Pragmatic Approach to Software Project Management:
This workshop presents project leadership planning and implementation for software-oriented projects: IT, product, and research-oriented projects, focusing on how you make decisions for the kind of project you're managing. Through the workshop, we will discuss pragmatic techniques and tips to organizing and managing the work for a successful result.
20 Tips for Project Success:
In this one day course we will discuss common traps that ensnare project managers and tips for how to release themselves, based on real projects.
Transitioning to Agile Project Management:
In this workshop we will address many of the core Agile practices in the workshop, first by discussing them and then by practicing them. We will build projects and use feedback and coaching as team members to simulate what a project might look and feel like as a more Agile project.
Topics in Advanced Project Management:
In this hands-on workshop, participants will deal with the most common problems in projects and discover technique to deal with them.
Creating and Using a Project Dashboard:
Project dashboards are a pragmatic technique to explaining the project status at a glance. But they’re not particularly easy to create or maintain. This workshop will help you define what you need to display for your project status and will help you determine how to collect the data. Remark: If participants have data about their projects, bring that. Johanna will specify the data and the format.
