Swan is an international SME situated in Zurich Highlands, which develops and produces high‑quality measuring instruments for online water analysis. We employ 300 people at 15 locations worldwide and are known for our high quality in a wide range of industries such as drinking and wastewater, power generation, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, cooling water and ultrapure water as well as steam and condensate.

We are looking for a motivated and independent individual to fill this newly created position and complement our existing firmware and software development team. The successful candidate will be involved in a wide range of activities and will have the opportunity to help shape the team's work. An interesting and challenging role awaits you, offering a great deal of creative freedom throughout the entire product life cycle.

You will play an active role in product development as part of interdisciplinary teams.

• Design and develop well organised and easy to read software source code for embedded systems, mostly in C
• Create and modify embedded software for devices that communicate with a variety of industrial protocols
• Develop PC software (mainly in Java) for controlling PCB prototypes and commissioning them in collaboration with analytics developers
• Software design for test systems in production and their implementation, as well as maintenance of existing software within the company

• MS/BS in electronic engineering with good knowledge of electronic hardware
• Several years of firmware development experience
• Solid experience developing C for embedded systems
• Deep understanding of RTOS / signal processing
• Low‑level programming skills (assembly)
• Industrial protocols such as Modbus, Profibus, HART
• Competence in at least one major OO programming language preferably Java
• Fluency in written and spoken English;
