SNF-funded research project investigating the gut microbiota to develop innovative microbiome-based therapies for methylmalonic aciduria, a rare inborn error of metabolism Your responsibilities

• You design and perform experiments using germ-free and gnotobiotic mouse models to dissect microbiota–host interactions.
• Perform stable isotope tracing, metabolomics, and LC-MS/MS analysis to track nutrient flux and disease biomarkers.
• By integrating multi-omics datasets, you uncover mechanisms linking microbiota composition to disease severity.
• You collaborate closely with experts in microbiome engineering and clinical metabolism.
• contribute to scientific publications and present results at national and international conferences.

• PhD applicants:
  Master's degree in microbiology, molecular biology, or related field
• Postdoctoral applicants:
  PhD in microbiology, molecular biology, or related field
• Strong expertise in gnotobiotic/germ-free mouse models and host–microbe interactions
• Experience with metabolomics, or mass spectrometry is highly desirable
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
• Strong communication skills in English
